Nanyang application interviews and admits (2008)

[Yeah..Right!!]

Hi guys,

I got a call from Nanyang last evening - 8pm IST. Without any prior intimation. Interview lasted around 20 mins, with questions like What sets you apart from the rest of the applicants ? About community service..NGOs .. Corporate Social Responsibility.. What would I do if i got a reject from all the univs. that I applied to ? What other admits do I have ? etc. It was more of a casual discussion.

My profile :-

GMAT - 720
Work-ex : 3 years in GIS consulting
Acads - good
Extra currs - good.

I have an admit from AIM. Turned down GLIM and SPJAIN. If I get an acceptance from NBS, then surely I would be in a dilemma between AIM and NBS. Any opinions ?

I think there is only one intake in Jul for full time MBA. If u hv secured admission but want to join later, you should check with the school or search their website to find if such an option exists.

I know opinion differs from person to person, but I feel NTU is always better than AIM. If you get an admit you should consider seriously to join that.

I have an admit for sp jain dubai/singapore and waitng for Nanyang.
In your opinion which is better nanyang or Sp jain

I have very little time to accept Sp jain offer,really confused should wait for nanyang or go with sp jain?

Any views ?

Hi Shweta,

As I already said opinion differs from person to person. I feel NTU is always better than SP Jain Dubai. If it were SP Jain Mumbai 1 yr program then choice would have been difficult.

But as you said you have less time to aacept SP Jain, I will say you can consider the same. Atleast SP Jain guarantee you placement. I will also suggest you to call NTU and ask them about ur application.

has my interview last night around 9.30 PM.... as abhishek said the call came from +5065 so was mentally prepared....

as wid others, mine was more like chat than interview... the way i speak wid my seniors... formal, crisp but very casual...

questions
1) What other Admits do I have? Are you taking it up them?
2) Are you still wid "XXXX" Company? Why do you want to MBA if u r so sucessful?
3) We discussed about my company "XXXX" which is in press these days and my department's role in the company...
4) Tell me more about family. Father and Sibling
5) Any Questions
6) Last question... will company "XXXX" be ready to take you as intern in Singapore?

it lasted for 9:42 mins...

Now I can say that I have 100% strike rate... 3 applications and and got all 3 calls!!!
