Re: Nanyang application interviews and admits (2008) - 27-03-2008, 09:17 AM

Hi all,

Got an interview call from one Mr. Tong (hope I heard the name right) last evening around 18.30 IST. The interview lasted for 21 minutes. Questions as below:

1> How would you leverage your experience until now after the MBA?
2> How are you adding value to your customer in your present role?
3> Which companies would you like to work for post MBA?
4> What are the major competitive examinations considered for entry into Business Schools in India?
5> Cite any one of the recent significant events and your view on the same.
6> Assuming the fact that you would not get any scholarship, how would you support your MBA financially?
7> How would you differentiate yourself from your peers during placement process?

I guess I did ok but waiting for the result which he said would be out within a maximum of month’s time.

BTW I had completed my application in mid October 2007. There was no prior notice for the interview and the call was from out of the blue.

ATB to all the applicants.

My profile:

GMAT: 670
Work Exp. : 5+ in Oil & Gas, Petrochemicals sector
Present role: Sr. Engineer Supervisor heading a team of 9 in an MNC (4 in techno-commercial team and 5 in Engineering).

Cheers
Chinmaya

Hi friends,

I also got a call from NTU yesterday night 10 PM EST. It was without any prior notice and was for 20 minutes. The interview went well (I Guess). Atleast it was without any stress.

Most of the questions came from the information I provided in my application form

Questions:
> What is your present role?
> I mentioned in the application that after the MBA I would like a middle managment role in a prestigious IT consulting organization. So he wanted to know more about this.
> What are the other B'schools I applied? I told few ASIAN and Europe universities and got admit into Cranfield. But planning to pursue my MBA in ASIA Pacific reason because of booming Asian economy. The we had some discussions on the changing economy
> What are the challenges your company has in expanding the business in Asia pacific reason and how they can cope to that?
> Which Indian B'School? I replied not much, only SP Jain, as in Indian very few schools accept GMAT and I couldn't write CAT because of my overseas stay.
> How will you sponser your study if not get scholarship?
> Any questions? I asked one.

My profile is:
GMAT: 710
exp: 4 years and 7 months as of date in IT and 1.7 years in Germany and USA

Nanyang Business School, Singapore
2008-09 Batch

just wondering how come this school has been ranked #46!!!!!

All the "moments of truth" till now provided me nothing but disappointment... be it website or the application form or application process or admission process....

And the amusing part is that the new dean is aiming to b in top 25 in next 4 years.... Check this out...

Re: Nanyang application interviews and admits (2008) - 02-04-2008, 02:23 PM

Hi,

Is there anyone whose Application Status has not been updated yet? I completed my application and payment process on the 28th of March, and got a confirmation mail from NTU containing my Application ID and NTU Cart ID. But when I try to view the status at https://wis.ntu.edu.sg/webexe/owa/pgr$adm_inquiry.main it says No Records Found! I've tried mailing them since past 3 days, but got no satisfactory response.

Also, the Applicant No field in the above page takes 8 characters max, while both the other ids I got are more than 9

Thanks
Naveen

There will be interviews from April to May. They will be releasing final decision on case by case basis.

So really can't trust the wait!!!.
