I applied in R3 and just received the email that my application is complete... now the long wait begins!
About chances of getting in, let's see.
Application numbers in 2007 were (according to an interview to
Roy Westbrook, Said, which you can find in the Economist website and as such is defeinitely reliable
link) 842. Of those were interviewed 581 and made offers to 389. 225 students accepted.
Now, we know from sources in this thread that:
"For stage one last year we had 130 applications, interviewed around 90 and made offers to around 60. Stage 2 last year we received 320 applications interviewed around 250 and made offers to around 130".
So last year around 190 offers were made in round 1 and 2. Since total offers over the year were 389, it is possible to see that about half the offers were made in round 1-2, and as such the other half were in rounds 3 and 4.
This year:
"Stage one applicants for this year we had 240 applications so up a lot on last year and we will interview around 130. We have not made all the offers yet, so that is still to be determined".
This clearly indicates a tougher year, but I think they will still try to keep a balance among the different rounds.
We can conclude that R3 will be tougher than previous rounds, but definitely possible, so let's keep our hopes up!!!
Good luck everybody!!!
