Hi All,

I had my interview today. It went ok , but was left with a feeling of emptyness. I think that they are getting lot of applications from candidates working for IT service companies. Hence the competetion is intense.

I was asked the basic questions such as Why MBA now, Why UNC, What are my short term and long term goals. My current roles and responsilities, some things about my resume etc.

I think that the interview is more to do with guaging your communication skills especially for international applicants.

Cheers,
Stereobag

Thanks so much for sharing your interview experience...
Yes, Indian IT Male is getting even tougher competitive pool. And EA round used to be easier than others, but now so many are applying in EA round, even this round has become very competitive...

Hi Jaimin,

I am no expert but just like to share my two cents. I think you have a good profile and you are not typical run of the mill IT student like me :-). Your CFA stuff amd IB experience is a definite value add. Probably work ex is on the lower side. do you have some leadership experience in work and say awards and achievements. If yes, then go ahead and give your best shot.

Cheers,
Stereobag

hi guys,

I am applying for UNC KF for fall 2008, want to pursue a Management Consulting profile after MBA.....does any have an idea how are the placements in this domain at Kenan Flagler?

The Business Week figures show a decent %age for Mgmt Consulting, but if anyone based out of US has visted the campus and has some more inputs then plz share with everyone...

How is the experience of the people who have interviewed this year, plz share that too??

cheers,
Nathan

I just had my interview on campus... I felt it was pressed for time but overall easy and relaxed... Interviews like this are difficult to judge.

nava_pagla, Were you the one who bumped into me on Saturday at the entrance of McColl bldg?

I had my interview too. I agree it is difficult to say how it went, because there were no trick questions. It was more of a conversation. She had my resume in front of her and she wanted to know what cannot be put into resume, i.e. personality. She basically wanted to know the person behind resume. Of course also why MBA and why UNC...
But I must agree, it was a very nice experience. I never felt I was in an interview!
