Hi Ramki,
There are couple of guys in our class from Govt services..MoD,Customs & Excise,EPFO among others. The average score is 700.
None is from poilce service (there is an army guy).
Submit your best application and I think you have an advantage of being from diverse background.

2.12th- 61% ( My mistake)
3.Engg. Comp sc- 63%
4.Outstanding achievements professionally-did something great (as per my managers) in M&A and new business development area apart from technical delivery.
5. GMAT 650 (q49, v30, awa 5)
7. Completed Managerial Excellence Program from Duke University Distant Learning Program.
8. Yes, worked in Germany, Netherlands, UK and USA.

Do I have a fair chance of getting an interview call ?I am planning to apply for 2009 session.

Hot Brain,
My take on ur profile, 7 yrs exp in Shell, BP,Chevron makes you a semi diversified student( in Indian context anything which is non IT is Diversification),since u r in IT but in a different industry you would probabley be considered as a fence sitter ,depends on the coll how they treat your candidature.
International work Ex efinitely adds value..
650 Gmat again makes u a fence sitter,IIMA definitely requires score above 700,Abt IIML a present student would be in a better position to comment.
all the best

Hi Som,
First things first..! No one can predict just based on GMAT or numbers. For our batch we had guys with 770 who went out guys with 660 who came in.
1. Your profile will get a few diversity points !
2.After final selection stage (i.e when it just becomes an 'excel list' !) your cumulative score is what will count.
3.So garner some points in your strong area...Make your appln stand out..Do well in interview....You have a chance
4.Don't feel sorry abt past marks...as
nobody can predict future except you...

Hi Soms,
You are welcome!
To add a dose of reality ..'if you have the option to improve ur GMAT score you should improve your score'...
the GMAT score for our batch was 660-770.
