Any news about the average GMAT, Work exp. etc of IPMX first batch students yet?
Also I wanted to know if they conduct interviews in US for the candidates applying from US?
Thanks. | | | | | | | |

Thanks. | Hi!
For average GMAT and Work ex you may have to wait for official confirmation from IIML. However my guess would be 700/ 8 yrs. You may also check the Yahoo group for details.
For interviews IIML conducted Webcam / Phone based interviews for overseas candidates.

Buddy you scared the hell out of me (until I read the last para)
Nyways, good Luc for getting the permission to allow ur extended family also to join in... Quote:

The connection was perfect and I felt as if she was pulling the tugs of my heart.
I knew my wife is unlikely to allow me to fall into this temptation so I introduced my sons, both of whom were thrilled to meet her. Now the majority was on my side.... Still I didn't say anything to my wife... Since it was a very sensitive issue and require a major shift in responsibility, sharing of resources (!) and devotion of time, I spoke to my mother. As expected there was a huge opposition however I did not gave up and took my mother to meet her... I could see that my mother was impressed however she maintained her stance, though I could see that her conviction is not that strong.
Then I gave it a thought myself.. Bringing her in folds of my family is a very huge responsibility and considering the fact that I will be going to ISB where time is at premium I may be doing injustice to her by throwing her in the deep end of pool in possible hostile environment. So I decided to take the big step and had a chat with my wife. The first reaction was as expected; A big shock and "How can you even think about it???" However thanks to Pacing, Leading and Rapport exercises my wife is convinced now that she will add a lot more fun (!) to our family.
Now I have to consider our stay at ISB. We will be staying in a studio apartment ( 1 BHK), and space may be a bit of constraint. Moreover additional activities, some commotion & lots of dhamaal may be a bit of disturbance for other fellow batch mates who are there for studying (unlike me).
So after Holi I have to take the big step and discuss my situation with ISB and check with them their policy. The only thing which stands between me and my love is the Policy of ISB. If ISB allows Pets on the campus then I am going to get my new found love (Golden Retriever) from the Dog shop...
So dear friends after you get over the hangover of Bhang tomorrow, give a thought to my predicament and pray that ISB does allow the lovers to be united....

Hi Sailor & Dmvars! I have been selected for GMP xlri. So, three lucknowites has been selected in three most prestigious programs ( ISB, IIML, XLRI). This has boosted my self esteem. I was really disappointed by rejection by ISB, IIMA, IIML. Guys , your feedback is required. I am in dilemna. whether I should drop for one year , reappear in gmat and reapply for IIMA, ISB & IIML. but, opportunity cost is high. The feedback and your views will really help me in decision making. | | | | | | | |

Hi Buddy, congrats for getting through GMP (trust me, that is not a small achievement at all - there is a mad rush to get into 1 year ex-MBA in India these days)
While I was preparing for GMP (was short-listed for iview also but skipped it), I browsed the PG thread http://www.pagalguy.com/forum/other-...gram-xlri.html (1 year PGDGM program at XLRI - GMP) and was really impressed with GMP (based on feedback from alum/current students, placement stats etc.). As a personal choice, I would have gone for this course if I was not selected in IIML.
PM me ur email ID, I will share some of the material on GMP which I had collected...
Good Luc with ur decision, do let me know what it was.
Please be in touch.

Congratulations! Its great to see you 'lighting' up XLRI. Buddy I did not carry out much research for XLRI however I know one thing for sure that XLRI is a very very respected name in India and I would have definitely applied next year had I not gone though ISB this year. As far as your dilemma is concerned, I too went through the similar phase before I send in my deposit to ISB. I asked following questions before I decided: 1. Can I raise my GMAT from 710 to 750 + (for IIM A, C and L) 2. How tough is the competition in my field of expertise... (Pretty tough! Only 1 shippie taken in at IIMA & IIML with GMAT 750+ and 770 respectively) 3. Age for candidates in my pool ( I think for IIMA 33 and 30 for IIML) So except 1, all other factors were coming in greyish for me... and rest is history. I also am an NLP'ian so I did utilise a few techniques to find out what I really want and the answer was in harmony with my choice to go ahead with ISB... If you have the conviction and mental strength to strive and join IIMA please go ahead, however don't join XLRI with "what if I had taken off for a year...." There are no right or wrong answers. The right answer lies in you. Do stay in touch. I should be in Lko till 8th April or so.. If you visit Lko before then would be great to meet you...
