hi Tarun and Sailor!
thanks for encouraging words. I was not even called for Interview by IIMA. Probably they are more interested in the people with international exposer. its really irony that on India tax payers money, international guys will enjoy.( just a thought, no offence intended). So, your story of 700 + cut off must be true. whenever you are in lucknow, please PM me. then we can talk on diverse issues.
keep fingers crossed. | | | | | | | |

ll-KS ! | Hi Tarun!
What you say re the third essay makes sense. However I really don't know whether to agree with you on this issue or not. ISB has asked us about a essay of 300 words I don't think that we shud make it like a Play (with dialogues)
Moreover won't you be loosing out on words when resorting to dialogue format??
ISB does puts a lot of emphasis on essays however GMAT too plays an imp role.
I was reading in one of the article (dunno where) where ISB has been presented as business school with 4th highest mean GMAT score. A Stellar GMAT won't let one in however a low GMAT wud definitely hurt one's chances.
Just my 2C.

keep fingers crossed. | IIMA 2008 batch would be missing my presence too.
I was hoping that my Work ex (All International) 12 years (Shipping, Mid and Up stream Oil Industry) may tilt the balance in my favour however I think low GMAT (660) was the reason for not getting the call.
So am working on my GMAT and have got a slot only at Ahmedabad on the 19th Oct.
Will PM you once in Lko.

Hi!
Congrats for your IIMA interview call.
To start a new thread you will have to send a personal application to the moderator and copy to Pagalguy. You would also have to specify what sort of traffic your thread may generate (for adv purposes).
Once they approve your application you will be send a URL and then you can start your thread.
Or the easier method would be go to the Parent thread (for this one is International and Indian MBA schools accepting GMAT) and click on Forum tools and you can Post a new thread thereon...
Reminds me of the time when we used to slam the new fuccha on board with a hefty Electricity bill and make him draw his a** size for lifeboat station....
BTW your idea for thread is quite promising. Will look forward for learning and contributing there.

Hi All!
I had raised the following query with IIML:
" 1. On Page 2 (Professional and Work Experience) & Page 3 (schools and institutions) the columns are not able to accept the full name of organization, the position held and the School details. How can we work around it? Or can we take the printout of the form and fill the form manually?? 2. What is the word limit for the recommendations? "
Today I have received following reply! "Please note the essential Eligibility Criteria - Graduation in any discipline
- Full time Post Qualification Professional Experience of six years (minimum) as on 31st March 2008
- GMAT Score obtained between 1st January 2004 to 20 November, 2007
There is no relaxation on these Criteria. Your queries 1) In the application form fields like 'Work Experience' and 'Academic Qualifications' are having enough space for informatics information. However, if there is any difficulty, you can submit the same by typing as per your requirement (but as per our format and sequence). 2) The recommendation letter must be filled in the provided space and as per our format. "
I hope this helps.

Hi Sailor ,
It was a very good initiative . Still I have a few questions :
1) Should we use abbreviations for company name, designation , name of school/college , university ( which I think doesn't makes sense ) ?
2) Should we make a similar format in word and fill the details as per our liking .
thnx | | | | | | | |

thnx | Hi Tarun!
You shud go ahead with similar format in word. IIML too has replied that they would accept it.
Moreover we have to send IIML the printout of the form. So it does not matter whether we use the IIML form or self made form in the same format.
I have removed the password from the form and now can write as much as I like in the columns so will use the same form.

keep fingers crossed. | It has been confirmed by IIMA adcom in various interactions that no international passport holders have been shortlisted this year. People with international experience are all Indian citizens having experience of working in foreign countries too - which means people who have been paying taxes in external countries and India at the same time.
Introspection rather than finding fault outside generally helps more in succeeding.
