Hi!
Selection criteria of IIML would be quite unpredictable. The form itself is very basic hence what IIML is looking for would be any body's guess.
I would guess IIML is going to place very high importance on the employability of the candidate after the course. Hence acads and potential of a candidate for mid and high management level may some of the factors for selection. The latter may be judged by SOP and two recommendation letters we have to provide.
GMAT too is going to play a imp role. This year IIMA cutoff reportedly has been 700 for male candidates.
ISB on the other hand is skewed more towards young candidates with work ex of 2-5 years (85%). However for the diversity factor they
take few candidates with more experience. So if you can convince them that you can contribute to class knowledge due to your experience you should not have any major challenges to face especially when there won't be many applicants in your age pool. However for placement, I discussed with a few Alumni (from Marine background) who were of the view that for for candidates with experience (more than 7-8 years) one has to rely more on his existing network.
BTW I too am from Lucknow and would be coming back on the 11th Oct for a month.
ATB.
Keep shining!
