Guys,
submitted my application by hand on 15th. I went at around 2:30 and saw that there were atleast 80-90 cars and around 20-25 2 wheelers parked inside the campus. I wondered if this was due to the last date of the form. I asked the guard and the smart guy replied that is so because of the last day of submitting the forms.
The admin guy gave a more probable answer that the the cars were due to start of their WMP classes on weekends at 2:30. The other info. that he gave (or did not):
1) The no. of appls. is confidential.
2) The site will show only selected/not selected and the details of the i/v will follow in the call letter.
Good thing, though, with IPMX is we wont have to wait long for the shortlist.

Hi all.. this thread is really informative.. Thanks Sailor for posting ur experiences at work as well.. it atleast helps us to temporarily forget the tension of waiting for the shortlist mails
About me, I have 7.5 years of experience as of date in IT.. 3 years out of those 7 were in US and I am currently in Chennai.. Applied to IIMA, ISB R1 and have sent in my application to IIML as well.. got a ding from IIMA and admit from ISB.. so am eagerly waiting for IIML result before finally deciding where to go.. somehow I am more inclined towards IIML, mainly because of the experience and profile of people who will be attending the course with me (ofcourse, only if i get selected )..
all the best to all the people out here and let's see what IIML has in store for us on 20th.. btw, i was too surprised at the number of 1000 - 1500 applications.. thinking back, i am not surprised considering the success of IIMA and IIMC's courses have got (do anybody have any information on the placements of PGPEX - I?).. so, the IIM tag is going to help IIML as well and the competition is going to be tough.. fingers crossed
My profile:
GMAT: 770, 6.0
Exp: 7.5 (3 yrs international)
Acads: Decent
EC: I don't know what schools think of them.. considering people around in this forum my EC activities are at the bottom 10 percentile

Hi RS,
Congrats for your ISB admit!!!
You have a stellar GMAT score and good experience with substantial international exposure. Even with avarage EC I would assume you have a sure shot chance of getting shortlisted. This being the 1st batch of IIML IPMX the adcom is bound to favor the candidates with stellar scores and good experience so that they can easily place them. Right or wrong, in India the courses are judged by the placements records. Having said that, IIM tag, class profile and location are other favourable factors for IPMX.
It would be nice to have you in the class, of course assuming we both make it. I have a ding from IIMA and ISB but I would have preferred IIM L over ISB with IIMA being the 1st choice if I had all the options.
For you it will be a pleasant dilemma if you get an admit from IIML, having ISB already in your kitty.
Not too many days to go before the shortlist for i/v is announced.
Happy waiting! | | | | | | | |

Did any of the applicants get any confirmation regarding receipt of application?? Any e-mail or on the phone? I called and was told that I would get a e-mail confirming receipt. However haven't received the same and now have my doubts whether they have even received my application.

Hi sanmba,
Here's my two cents on Great Lakes.
Having read the content on their website, it seems to be a very promising 1 year program that they have. Placements are also good, with some of the top notch companise across industry participating. The only hitch, which actually can be a big hitch for many people in this forum with more than 7 years of exp and all, is that 2007's placement boasts of the highest sal being offered at 17 lac INR pa. Would it be worthwhile for people who are alraedy at that level or much higher than that to go in for such a program?
Just my two cents. Quote:

Though no confirmation from IPMX about my main application, I am happy to treat this confirmation for my application as well.

Hello,
I called over phone to confirm my application is received by Noida Campus. The person attending phone searched with my name for a while and then asked to send them email. After a day I got response of email confirming that application received by Speed Post.
Profile - GMAT 620 Work Exp. 15 year plus including more then 5 year international. (IT industry with top names in India and overseas)
Current CTC - 25L in senior management, acad, extra carri and reco - good
Did not get interview call from IIMA and ISB. Also applied to couple of overseas one, Invites were received from colleges thru GMAC.
ISB in its feedback told that you are outdated, to prove your caliber you should have very high score then average GMAT intake score. (this is some new logic to digest)
Plan- if IPMX and other in queue does not work out, then target GMAT for 750 plus score.
I would like comments from community.
Good luck to all. | | | | | | | |

@rajindia
Hi, you have a very impressive profile, and am sure you must have heard this many times before. Let me come straight to the point. It would be hard for anyone in a sane frame of mind to digest the feedback that you got from ISB - " you are outdated, to prove your caliber you should have very high score then average GMAT intake score".
Let me help you comprehend this a bit. I had read in some other forum where the ISB Adcom director himself had elaborated on this aspect. He was responding to a very senior person like you who had an average 15+ years of exp but a lesser than average GMAT. What was told was that in such cases the % marks you scored in your academics can't be used to judge whether you will perform at the same level since there's been a considerable time lapse since your last academic. So, a fair pointer in such cases is GMAT Score. A higher than average GMAT score in such cases assures the Adcom that you have it in you at this point in time to cope up with the rigors of the academics at the B-Skool and do a good job.
The one liner you got as a feedback from ISB leaves many a thing to imagination. And I guess my explanation would have helped bring out the implicit things in their one liner. Please let me know if you are not convinced
