Hi Jennifer,
Could you please provide an objective comparison of Institute de Empresa, Spain and HEC Paris listing the merits and demerits of both as well as how they stack up against the other European/US programs.
Warm Regards.
P.S - I have an admit with IE and an interview pending with HEC.

Hi Jennifer,
I work in an Indian IT MNC but since the last 1.25 years I am in Denmark on project implementation. My total exp is 2.5+ yrs. I am planning to apply to CBS fr Sept 2009 session. Will they consider me with less exp (3 yrs by sept) ? Where does CBS stand in terms of MBA ranking ? My job basically has been technical only with very few opportunities for showing leadership skills etc, will it be a negative point ?
Thanks in Advance!

hi Jennifer,
First of all thanks a tonne to answer all our queries with so much patience (Answering the same question again and again is no small game..)
Could you please assess my profile:
GMAT: 700 ( Q 49, V 35, AWA 5 )
Education : B.Tech (from premier college) - Topper
M.Tech(IIT) - Among the toppers
Work Experience: 6+ years in Telecom domain(working as a technical leader, leading project as well as customer interaction)
Extra curriculars: Good
Community services: Involvement in many NGOs, co founded one especially for providing micro credit facilities to underprevileged and now successfully running in multiple places with many volunteers.
Extra achievements: Class I officer in Indian railways (Qualified IES, UPSC one of the toughest exams to crack)
My goal: I have a passion to serve my country and this passion motivated me to prepare for Indian Engineering Services, a techno managerial cadre in Indian Govt. Qualifying it with a good rank, I chose the coveted post of Indian railways, which is the biggest and most complex network in the world(Every day Indian railways carry the population of 40 countries!!!!). I want to apply my technical knowledge, which I gained while working in Telecom industry, to improve the Indian railways, which are lagging on various fronts. To make Indian railways successful as profitable ventures, a good knowledge of business domain is absolutely necessary , which only an MBA can provide me. From MBA I wish to learn the general management with a focus on transportation mngmnt as well as strategy and innovation.
Short term goal -> To join a consulting firm to hone my skills in consulting especially infrastructure consulting(rail, road, general transportation).
Long term goal-> Armed with buisness knowledge, I would join Indian railways and make an effective contribution to improve the Railways and make it world's best.
I am planning to apply in INSEAD, Judge, SAID in R3.( Yes I got late in applying  due to some personal reasons)
Does my above profile and my reason to pursue MBA strong enough to convince adcom? Would you suggest me to go ahead and apply to my 3 dream schools in R3?
Your comments would be invaluable to me.
Thanking you in anticipation.
regards
fsajjad

The "describe yourself" question is a challenge, I agree. What I like to do for this one is look at the rest of the essays and determine what examples you will be sharing in those first. Then, we can assess what areas of your background are "missing" and concentrate on those characteristics in this essay with supporting examples that demonstrate "you in action."
Best of luck!

Hi Jennifer,
Where do Babson stand among Stanford, UCLA, MIT. I have read a lot about Babson that it is #1 in entrepreneurship program. But there are a lot of apprehensions about babson. Some say that attending Babson is not worth for your money. Uptp what extent these talks are true

Hi, Puneet. I specialize in MBA programs. Unfortunately, I know nothing about the Masters Of Applied Information Technology course at Monash University. To find out the answers to your questions, I recommend you contact the program directly. If they cannot give you job placement information for the past few years, it may be a sign that the degree won't help you as much as you are hoping.
I'm sorry I could not be of greater assistance.

I don't want to invest so much time/money in an MBA and end up in an industry/job I have no interest in.This is my biggest fear.
Will I be considered a fresher due to my unrelated work experience? Plus it is in a family business so will this go against me? Am quite worried about this.
Please advise urgently.

You are correct to be concerned about the job transition. One of the major challenges that career changers face in the application process is proving to the admissions committees that they truly know about and understand their future industry and are not just living in a dreamland. If you lack any experience or education in that field, then the admissions committees are going to doubt your ability to reach these goals (and any company's interest in hiring you) and be more reticent to offer you a place in the class. However, there are several steps that you can take now to make the transition and application process more smooth. First, you should make every effort in your current job to take on more branding and marketing roles and then highlight these and the impact you have made on them in your resume. Second, you should try to build a network of contacts in the industry, take a class in the field, or perhaps pursue an internship in it. In addition, during your MBA studies, you should pursue an internship in marketing and branding to further develop that bridge to your future. The fact that your experience is with a family business is not a strike against you at all. You just need to demonstrate that you are an insightful leader who makes a big impact – that can be through a small family business or a large company. Hopefully, the fact that this is a family business will help you gain leverage in moving to a position that fits your interests and career goals in the company. Best of luck and regards, Jennifer Bloom, CPRW

Hi, Madhu. The 660 GMAT is a bit low in my opinion. Unless you have had excellent leadership experience and impact, I believe you will have to boost it for those schools. But I love to be proven wrong so keep me posted!
