Re: INSEAD Sept 2008 batch - 22-09-2007, 10:02 AM

hi everyone,
I am also planning to apply to INSEAD for sep 2008 batch. Gave my GMAT recently got 700 ( a bit dissapointed ) but will go ahead with application. My acads are good approx 85% in engg and i have 5 yrs of experience in IT specifically in ERP domain of which 3 yrs has been spent outside india.

My first question is : How soon should we apply for INSEAD , round 1 or round 2 , i have yet to give my TOEFL so i dont think i will be able to make round 1 ?

Secondly : Recommendation letters - can they come from people not directly reporting to ?

Rita, you can find the details on this page: INSEAD MBA Application checklist

for your reference here they are:

SUPPORTING DOCUMENTATION
You should also submit the following documents by post. Your application will not be processed until all these elements have been received in addition to the online application:
  • Official Transcripts indicating both diploma and grades achieved from each college or university that you have attended. We accept transcripts in English or French. All others must be accompanied by a certified English translation. Each transcript must bear the official seal and signature of the institution, and may be sent by the institution directly to INSEAD. Photocopies are not accepted unless officially certified by a public or professional body (solicitor, embassy, town hall, etc).
  • GMAT score. Please arrange to have Pearson Vue submit your test scores directly to INSEAD, code DL3-S8-89. A copy of your score report is sufficient for us to begin evaluating your file, but please note that no decision can be taken without your original test score report. GMAT scores are valid for five years, so there should be less than five years between your test date and INSEAD application submission date.
  • TOEIC, TOEFL, IELTS or Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE) score. The INSEAD MBA is taught exclusively in English and is highly participatory, requiring well-developed written and verbal skills. Accordingly, if your native language is not English you must take a test for English proficiency, unless your full-time university degree is from an institution where the curriculum was also taught exclusively in English. We accept TOEFL, TOEIC, IELTS and the Certificate of Proficiency in English test. For INSEAD purposes, scores are valid for two years, so there should be less than two years between your test date and INSEAD application submission date. With the TOEFL, please arrange to have ETS report your test scores directly to INSEAD, code 0970. As with the GMAT, a copy of your score report is sufficient for us to begin evaluating your file, but please note that no decision can be taken without your original test score report. Minimum scores are as follows: iTOEFL: 105; TOEFL computerised test: 260; TOEFL paper-based test: 620; TOEIC: 950; IELTS: 7; CPE: B.
  • Entry language certification. This is required if English is your native language. For more details, please see the Languages pages. Please note that the certification must be received no later than 1st June for the September intake, and 1st November for the January intake.
