my opinion...

Title should be your actual title same as what exists in the paperwork... which is senior consultant and then u should utilize the first essay "1. Please give a detailed description of your job, including nature of work, major responsibilities; and, where relevant, employees under your supervision, size of budget, number of clients/products and results achieved. (250 words)" to provide an explanation of your job duties...

Keep in mind that titles don't determine anything in the candidacy for schools at the level of INSEAD, what matters is the work that one does and the quality of your experience...

hey are the essay topics for the sep2008 batch insead the same as jan2008,

i download the form quite a while ago so just wanted to know
if some once can pst the essay topics that would be very good

Here are the topics:

Two Job related essays:
1. Please give a detailed description of your job, including nature of work, major responsibilities; and, where relevant, employees under your supervision, size of budget, number of clients/products and results achieved. (250 words)
2. Please give us a full description of your career since graduating from university. If you were to remain with your present employer, what would be your next step in terms of position? (250 words)

Other Essays
1. Give a candid description of yourself, stressing the personal characteristics you feel to be your strengths and weaknesses and the main factors, which have influenced your personal development, giving examples when necessary. (400 words approx.)
2. Describe what you believe to be your two most substantial accomplishments to date, explaining why you view them as such. (400 words approx.)
3. Describe a situation taken from school, business, civil or military life, where you did not meet your personal objectives, and discuss briefly the effect. (250 words approx.)
4. Discuss your career goals. What skills do you expect to gain from studying at INSEAD and how will they contribute to your professional career. (500 words approx.)
5. Please choose one of the following two essay topics:
a) Have you ever experienced culture shock? What did it mean to you? (250 words approx.), or
b) What would you say to a foreigner moving to your home country? (250 words approx.)
6. Is there anything that you have not mentioned in the above essays that you would like the Admissions Committee to know? (200 words approx.) This essay is optional.


You can click the "Check Application Version" button on page 3 of the pdf to check the version and if needed download the new version... the app does allow u to import ur data from old version to the new one, so it shdn't be a worry at all... i think using the latest and greatest version is the best idea...

BTW... does anyone know how to check the status of a recommendation? Do we get an email when the reco is complete? or do we rely on what the recommender tells us?

I would like to be able to login somewhere and check that my app is indeed complete in that respect

I too am applying to INSEAD.

My profile: M23/GMAT 720/ 2yr current WE(sales and marketing)/BTech from IIT GPA 3.15/ have some entrepreneurship exposure as well.

Looking basically for expanding (and diversifying) my family business in long term, after MBA and probably 1 more year of international WE.

My doubt regarding INSEAD was is 2yr WE(within India only) enough?
Also another -ve point is my age?

Your entrepreneurial exposure and focus will be a strong differentiating factor for you... also make sure you really are passionate about focussing on ur family biz after graduation coz the admissions folks can easily figure out if you are making it up... is your exp 2 yrs now or will it be 2 yrs by the time u join? coz 3 yrs at joining is a much safer situation than 2 at joining...

my WE will be 3yrs while joining.
Also my entrepreneurship exposure is more in production(we own small scale iron and steel rolling mill). i joined my job to learn more about marketing etc(which i have done).
I need more exposure in opportunity evaluation, venturing, capital raising etc through the MBA. Also additional knowledge in finance and HR would be a big plus for me.

deveshk, going by what you've written, i'd consider you a strong candidate and you'll need to market yourself well to the school... as we all need to...

Hi Guys.
I am planning to apply in the R1 for sep 2008.
I have few queries regarding transcripts and toefl.
How did you guys have send them. I cannot go to my previous colleges to get extra transcripts. Will attesting the photocopies from a civil court be ok.

I have given the toefl on 12th sept and last date for R1 is 3 October 2007.Though i have asked the toefl to send the scores to INSEAD, should i submit my application without toefl score in it?

pls help.

was just wondering about the chances...

What all docs do we have to send them by Post??? can we send the hard copies before submitting the app online??
