INSEAD Singapore vs. Said-Oxford - 16-08-2007, 11:27 PM

Hi Guys,
I applied to 3 schools for an MBA - Said-Oxford, HEC and INSEAD-Jan'08. I got final calls from Oxford and HEC, and was shortlisted for the INSEAD interviews, for which the final decision will be out end of Aug.

INSEAD is definately my first choice, and will definately go there if I make it. I prefer SBS over HEC, and thus Oxford is my backup (for which I have already paid up the initial deposit and will be fore-going it if I make it to INSEAD).

But my dilemma is - if I get INSEAD-Singapore campus (though iv opted for Fontainbleau), which should I choose btw INSEAD-Sgpore and Said-Oxford.

Having worked extensively across Asia, I am definately looking forward to an MBA outside of Asia to build gain more on international diversity and learn more from the European culture, and going by that Oxford scores. But the INSEAD brand is way too hard to ignore, and INSEAD definately has much more history than Said (though INSEAD Sgpore doesnt). I know I would be able to spend a period or two at Fontainbleau, even if most of the course would be out of Sgpore.

But, is INSEAD Sgpore as good, is the brand equity/credibility as great as that of INSEAD-France?? Its a tough call, and coz I would have one day to take the call (got to deposit the balance fees of Oxford on Sept 1st), I would like to make a decision before that.

Would be grateful to get some inputs from you guys, and any additional info on how good/bad INSEAD-Sgpore is which could help me make a decision.

Cheers,

Godfather....I think you need to look at your career goals very carefully. I dont know what industry you are in or would like to move to. I have been to Said as a visitor and have friends who graduated from INSEAD Singapore.

If you could tell me more about your goals then may be I can help better.

I am in consulting industry planning for an MBA in near future, graduated from Manchester Business School, have been to Said and have friends who graduated from INSEAD Singapore.

Check your PM !
