I have been placed in Active Waitlist category for SMM.

and I have few questions

How frequently is the wait list updated?

I see my candidature in the wait list category is there any waitlist number for the same? or all the candidates irrespective of when they appear have the same weightage?

Is there any earliest or last date upto which I could get the call?

What could be the least time upto which I could be asked to join your institute if selected?

What was status of last years wait list(I know that all candidates in the waitlist got selected for SPJ mumbai)(in the sense was there any wait list conversion).

My point is that I have to serve a 3 month notice period to my present employer so if you could throw some light on these topics it would help me plan better.

I am planning to write the SPjain apti test on 30 sep.

Can i get some sample questions or can any1 throw some light on the difficulty level of the various sections?

Also what is the selection process lik once u clear the apti test n are called for the evaluation round?

First of all thanks to all those who made this forum and this thread possible. It is extremely informative. I have a couple of questions for existing students of S.P.Jain (Dubai and Singapore).

1. I am currently working for a leading IT firm from India and I am in client location in US. I have a total work experience of 5 years. My first question: i want to switch my career stream from IT to Marketing. I am passionate about advertising. When i went thru the streams and curriculum for marketing; I couldn't make out much as almost all the three super specializations had the same curriculum or rather common names relevant to that stream. Which super specialization (SM &M or PM &M) will give me more exposure towards advertising? Can i have a one on one contact with any existing student of the respective stream i am looking at?
2. What is the career prospects (placements) for those switching career streams? Kindly provide quantitative figure if you have any.
3. Based on the past track record, are students getting placed in middle-level management profiles?

hi anu,

the SPJAT is pretty ok to crack...the test will have sections like critical reasoning, GK (current n peripheral), numerical accuracy,RC (small paras) and data sufficiency....as u go along ansring, the diff lvl goes up or down just like GMAT...if u have prev prepared for a GMAT or CAT or XAT, this shud not be too tuf to crack...there will be around 8-11 qsns in each section...go with an open mind and u ansr all the qsns...am sure u will crack it...
after u clear the apt test...in cpl of days u shud get the results...after this in two days time u will rcv an email rgrds to ur the eval prcs...just send a DD of 2000 to the mumbai off n they will confirm ur slot...lemme know if u wanna know more...gud luk for the test!!!

hello people, This is supriya. I wanted to apply to SP jain singapore/Dubai. I had a few questions regarding the same.. 1) whats the difference between the jan 2008 and jun 2008 cycles? Are there any specific reasons for having two different cycles of intake? I am asking this question because i wanted to know if there are any advantages in applying to one cycle over another. I am not sure in which cycle i need to apply..2) when will the application process for june 2008 open?3) I had taken up xat last year and i have a 89 percentile. On the xat score report i see that it is valid till december 31 2007. Is it possible for me to apply with this score for the june 2008 cycle of sp jain?thanks in advancesupriya
