I know a student in PGPX II, who was selected with 640 in GMAT.
If you are a non-IT guy, I think anythink above 640 should get you an interview call, provided everything else is fine.

Hello everyone,
Name: Lokesh sharma
Age: 35
GMAT : 680/4
Qual: B.E. Mech., 72%, Rajasthan Univ.(Govt. College of Engg. - Kota)
Exp: 11+ yrs.
Sector : Govt. - (8 yrs. in Ministry of Defence and continuing) + 1 year in Govt. of Rajasthan -Water supply & Drainage) + 2 yrs. in Alstom
Work area: Manufacturing 9+ yrs. and general management/Service(Govt. way) for1 year and again for the last one year as a typical civil servant in Ministry.
Targeted Schools: IIMA, IIML, ISB,
Career Goal: a career shift from bureaucratic form of govt. where freedom to implement ideas is there
Selected to the PGP-PMP course at IIMA last year but taken deferment for one year.Only after seeing Application form for PGPX I came to know that form and essays are exactly same for PGP-PMP and PGPX.
Be truthful to yourself while writing the essays. It should not look as if idea is of somebody else's. A presentation too was there.
As far as interview for PGP-PMP is concerned it was more focussed on why this course and what you want to achieve by pursuing it. Then there were questions related to present work assignment. Some general knowledge about business and balance sheet, profit & loss statement. Technical questions too were asked about thermodynamics, pumps etc. too which I politely refused that I have lost touch with them long back and at present I can answer only about armaments and their mfg. Questions will be there about what you write in essays as well. In all it lasted about 40 min.
I presume there will not be much difference in PGPX.

I have been repeatedly awaiting PGPX II placement data on IIMA website, but have not seen anything so far. Does anyone know why they have not posted the placement statistics for the IInd batch? The students should all have joined the workforce by now.

Do you mean, data for PGPXI? PGPXII is still underway and would pass out only by March 2008. Data for batch I is here:

Submitted my PGPX application 2 days back. My profile is:
WE - 8 yrs (4 yrs international), working as an IT Project Manager since last 3 yrs
Edu - BE, MBA, Good academics
ECA - Good, working with a not-for-profit organization
GMAT - 740 (50/40/5.5)
It would also help if applicants can enter their profile at:

Good luck to all the applicants.

For the folks who have faced the interview for IIMA PGPX already, I have one concern on my profile and need your inputs on the same. Following is where I stand -
GMAT - 740 / 5.0
Education - Post Grad in IT
Workex - would be 7 yrs and 10 months by the time I join, if selected for PGPX. Entire period has been with one of the top tier IT companies, for a fortune 100 client.
Certifications - PMP, NCFM (NSE's Certification in Financial Markets), IIBF (Indian Institute of Banking and Finance) + a few internal certifications on Quality, Six Sigma
International Experience - 3 yrs
Extra Curriculars - prominently active during college and also during work
However my total experience is on the lower band of the average for first two batches.
What would be your suggestion to make up for that ? Is IIM very particular about the number of years of work ex that you carry ? Would they tell me to work for another couple of years and come back after I have 9 or 10 years on my resume ? (because such profiles are easy to place with salaries that IIM would currently target)
Thanks so much for your time and help.

I'll remember to bring my golf clubs. Haven't touched them in more than a year, but excited about being able to play with fellow PGPXians. I would seriously need to hit the practice range to get my swing back again though. Right now, I'd be lucky to shoot a 100 on a 18-hole course.

Arun thanks for starting this thread. I posted a query on the other two threads mentioned in your post a week or two back. They looked awfully silent for the proximity that we had for deadline submission. All the best to everyone and keep the info pouring in.
