Re: IIMA PGPX-III 2008-09 Applications and beyond - 08-08-2007, 03:28 PM

Hello everyone,

My Profile:
Name: Rajat
Age: 33
GMAT : 650/5
Qual: B.E. Industrial, 72%, RKNEC Nagpur
Exp: 12 (with 7 years International)
Sector : IT (ERP Applications and Project Management), 2 years as a Project Engineer for an automotive joint, rest in ERP and IT in Health Care, Banking, and Consulting firms.
Work area: Information Technology, Consulting and Project Management
Interests: Golf (Playing and providing training sessions), was invovled in fund raising activities in USA for kids achievement and other foundations, volunteer work, sports enthusiast, Reading books on Spiritualism
Targeted Schools: IIMA, ISB, MBS (Melbourne), INSEAD, LBS
Career Goal: Strategic Consulting company and to start a senior citizen home

I would like to ask participants to post their experince on the interviews conducted at IIM or if they know of the interview methods at IIM if anyone is familiar with it.
  • Are the initerviews on Business Cases or general (i.e. your professional accomplishments)
  • If Business Cases, how many cases are provided
  • Do you have to present the case to an audience (School Alums, Senior Faculty etc.)
I am assuming most of the people must have put in applications for IIM and must be preparing for the next stage i.e. the essays and interviews, since IIM will provide less than 4-5 weeks to appear for the interview when the results are out on 10th Sep.

Kindly post your experiences of the interviews incase you have deferred PGPX II to join PGPX III or any knowledge that you might have on the interview process.

Take Care.
Rajat.

Dear Arun,

Thanks for the link for the PGPX 2007. It's exhaustive and informative. I have been browsing it relegiously since yesterday and have been only half way through reading the journey of the aspirants. I hope this year aspirants of PGPX III will also follow the same trend on this thread and share their experiences and perceptions.

I hope we can make it through the IIMA PGPX III and I wish you good luck as well. Since I have moved to India I have been looking forward for a golf partner. If selected for PGPX III I plan to organize a Charity Golf Event for "Senior Citizens Home" and take the "Golf Club" at IIMA to the next level.

Let's hope for the best.

Take Care,

Rajat.
