Re: ISB 2008 - Interviews and Admits - 11-09-2007, 08:20 AM

Hi if any one can help me answer my 2 questions.

1. i gave my 1st gmat 3 days back and got 640. i think i can do much better than this atleast around 700+ so i am retaking on oct 20. is gmat retake a negative point for isb. because in their apps form they have asked if you have taken gmat more than once.

2. do i have less chnace if i apply in the cycle2. or both cycles have equal importance.

thanks

This question has come over and over again. R1 has a small advantage over R2. Imagine it to be like R1 having a notional cut-off of 99.96 and R2 has it around 99.97. The quality of applications received is very high and even though the difference is very marginal it can prove to be costly if you are bordering around this notional cut-off.

Hi BFU and others,

Quick question on choice of job function in the employment details tab in the application. I did BPO - financial transaction processing. In employment details Im having this option called 'I-processes, transactions and operations' - Is this relating to BPO? The only other closest choice I could find was 'accounting/tax/commercial/control'. But the latter to me seems like wht an audit firm person should choose.

Pls clarify.

Those have already filled the application with BPO work exp...can you pls let me know.

thnx

Should I apply for R2 in ISB? Pl share your opinion.
Hi, your profile is good. Its just that IIM received too many application, probably they didn't take you. In terms of ISB your work exp. is more than the average. So you can go ahead and apply for ISB.

Hi,

Good to see some comman faces/avtars at IIMA thread.

We don,t have much time to repent over IIMA.

Only four days left to submit app.

Just one query... Experience which was strong point for us at IIMA won,t it be negative at ISB considering avg profile of the candidates at ISB.
