But I have one doubt... you have said that the evaluation letter can be sent before the application portal opens. Does this mean that evaluation letter format will be made available before the opening of the admission process?
And also, I guess the questions asked in the evaluation letter cannot vary much every year, they have to be more or less similar. So wouldn't getting the format now and letting the recommender fill it will be helpful? bcoz, this way i can be in touch with him during the form filling...
Thanx once again
Najmuddin | No by tht i meant that once the application portal opens, you have 3 things to fill and send
1. Evaluation letter 1
2. Evaluation letter 2
3. Application form consisting of essays and scanned versions of your documents
The deadline assuming is xx-xx-xx, you can send the evaluations before you send the application form. That means suppose your evaluator has completed the reco letter, he can send it out BEFORE you send out the application-all these 3 things need not go out together. This I think is done cuz the letters are independent of your applications and can be sent out without your intervention by the employer. You can continue to spend time on ure essays.
For instance- my deadline was Nov 15th. My evaluator completed the Reco on Nov 11th and sent it thru his email id to ISB. I continued to fill in my essays and sent my application on Nov 15th's noon.
Phew! Thats the explanation. Hope iv done justice this time "The woods are lovely, dark and deep, but i have promises to keep, And miles to go before I sleep, And miles to go before I sleep." | | | | | The Following User Says Thank You to Rishika14 For This Useful Post:

Najmuddin | As far as the questions go, just like its recommended not to try and preempt what the interviewers can ask in an interview, its best not to assume ISB lacks creativity in terms of questions lol .
Every year brings new candidates and a new database and learning curve for the school as well. They might have realised there are additional details they would like to ask the evaluator next year based on this year's output and gaps they felt. To ask your employer to fill these questions and then realise they have changed mite irritate your boss for the double work he needs to do.
You can always inform him now and then contact him once after the portal opens to confirm if he is in a position to send the recommendation before the deadline and provide his name in your application.
While its best to let your evaluator fill in the form independently without any influence, its a subjective thing and you can always ask him for an appt and go visit him to discuss certain points and events you think are significant to mention in the reco. Suggest you dont make him fill a form now with the risk of making him repeat the task. You can inform him and then follow it up with a phone call, email, meeting to discuss once you sure of the questions. Your call at the end of the day "The woods are lovely, dark and deep, but i have promises to keep, And miles to go before I sleep, And miles to go before I sleep."

Hi,
I have a query and appreciate somebody helping me in this regard.
I've completed my Btech in 2006. I had a offer in hand before I passout.
but, there was a gap of about 6 months before I joined my job.
In the mean while, I joined our college as a member of the faculty training
students for campus selections and later teaching academic subjects for about
6 months. Now, my question is, can I use that teaching exp 4 applying to ISB?
Will they consider it? How do i need to explain it?

My Query: - I would like to have some tips and strategies that I can adapt for my GMAT preparation
