Would suggest getting this verified from ISB rather than past students. I know that I don't have an experience certificate from previous companies, and won't be able to produce one. I also know of a lot of others who would be in a similar situation. Don't know if the rules for proof of experience are different for those working outside India as against in India.

Hi....has anyone heard from the Adcom yet? The anxiety is killing. I know they said that the results will be known by Dec 15th....but is there any possibility that it might be out before that?

I am going to have a heartstroke!

Re: ISB 2008 - Interviews and Admits - 26-11-2007, 05:56 PM

Applied in R2.
Suffering from the IIM syndrome

3 yrs IT QA background with one of the largest software product development companies in the world.
Avg acads
Above avg extra-curriculars.
GMAT 740 [50Q 40V 5AWA]

Not very hopeful of an interview call because a close friend with a similar profile and GMAT 730 got rejected in R1.

Any idea about how many seats remain for the R2 candidates after servicing all R1 applications ?

  1. First and last salary slip or a simple employment certificate (stating that you are an employee from Feb 1997 to current date) on your employer / department's letter head will suffice for your application. Clear and precise details on what is acceptable will be made available by respective institutes when applications open again in 2008
  2. It may be. Although it is too early to be concerned about that, why don't you write an email to the institutes and get it clarified from them. Email ids can be obtained from the websites of the institutes.
  3. Good to know this. It adds a good amount of diversity to your profile and adds strength to your candidature.
  4. That may get you an answer for ISB. What about other schools? Also, Dean is a very busy person and may not be able to answer ALL questions posted on this forum, specially if the answers to your questions are available from alternative sources. Writing an email to the institutes may be a faster / reliable route to seek accurate and timely answers to your queries.
rgds,

Hi, the interview dates are linked to this page: (click on the interview dates - cycle 2)
ISB - Online Application Portal

The site says that candidates shortlisted for interview will be intimated a week before their interview schedule. For R1 candidates, the adcom sent the SMS/eMail around a month after the R1 application cut off, i.e.. the week of 15th October. (Which happens to be around 10 days before the start of the earliest R1 interviews from 25th Oct in Pune & Chennai).

Yes, you are right... most of the R1 candidates got the interview calls much in advance (around a month). I believe the the adcom evaluated and collated the feedback on all the applications and started sending out the calls around 10 days in advance of the commencement of the earliest interviews.. i.e. for round one the interviews 'season' started from the 25th of Oct in with Pune and Chennai being the first cities.

If the same is repeated for R2 as well, then the calls should start flowing out around the 10th of Dec, in which case the Pune candidates whose schedules will be between 21-22 Dec will know 10 days in advance and the candidates from Hyderabad (21-31 Jan) will have more than a month to kill.

Even if there is a delay in the shortlisting, you should get to know your schedule atleast a week in advance of the session in your city. The comment on the ISB site "Interview calls will be emailed a week prior to the interview dates." ensures that ISB does not over-commit.

I can understand your apprehension... Most of us are going through / have gone through the same agonizing wait(s)... First submit app and wait for the call... the call when it finally comes, brings with it a big relief and also starts off a new wait till the interview date... finally the interview is over and waiting period number 3 starts off... for the final results...

Now that interviews are done, the agonizing 2 week wait begins for R1 folks.

Any ideas on how we can fast-forward to Dec 15th so we don't think about it each day
