Thanks for the thread . It was really informative for a prospective IMD aspirant.

I have been thinking about a foreign MBA and was seriously thinking about IMD. I have a few queries.

Here is my brief profile.

Acads (X (CBSE)- 95.2% (Invitation from Indian President to watch Republic Day Parade), XII (CBSE)- 90% , B:Tech (E&C) from a Top 30 Engg college in India - 83%, MBA (marketing)from FMS, Delhi University - 63%) - Distinction throughout acedemics

Work Experience - Started as a Programmer Analyst in Cognizant, left it for MBA from FMS, Delhi. After MBA worked with as a Product manager (handling marketing,sales, tech and design)wellknown (#1) Internet Company and set up a UGC product which generated revenue pipeline worth Rs. 10 mliion in 2 years. Currently working with a Wharton incubated Startup in a very niche area as the Head of Product Management and Marketing. Also runs a tour agency, bed and breakfast in my homestate Kerala, which is generating revenues worth Rs.2 million from last year.- Total Work Experience (5 years (pre MBA - 2 post MBA - 3)

Extra Curriculars - Lot of Prizes for Debates, Elocutions etc. Well Known Quiz prizes representing school and college. Was very active in B School Fests and has won lot of marketing/strategy/IT case studies + competitions in IIM B, IIM C , IIM L , IIM K , IIM I, other top B Schools etc.Was an elected school captain, elected college senate member, elected to student body of FMS to a major position. Handling Leadership roles in my last two organisations handling teams of 15-20 odd people.

Community Service - Works with Childline and some other NGOs in my freetime for the last 10 years.

Married and has a small baby.

Futrure Goal - Get into marketing strategy roles in any of the core technology firms or strategy consulting roles in any of the big consults.

I want to do a foreign MBA and is interested in IMD . I have seen the prospectus and liked the course structure and I feel that I will enjoy doing an MBA from IMD vis a vis someother schools I was considering for 2012 admissions. So few of my questions hoping a decent score in GMAT.

1. What all are the items that I need to work on if I want to do an MBA from IMD, Lusanne.?
2. I have an MBA from FMS,Delhi ?. Does this hold against my candidature?.
3. I dont have an international experience. (I rejected three offers to go to US under various circumstances and repends it now). How much weightage does International Experience have in front of Adcom?
4. I am working with a startup now where I am a stakeholder. The prospectus and some PUY threads mentions that IMD prefers wellknown MNC names.Does this put me at a disadvantage?
5. I have worked with techcompanies/ startups but not in IT roles. It is more of Product and Marketing roles. Will I be considered among the competitive IT pool vis a vis marketing pool?
6. Anyother tips on how I should plan my candidature for 2012 admissions.
