2) Makes sense, in fact your experience with audit (and hopefully career progress in the firm your work in) would make you an attractive candidate for M&A / Corporate Finance (both in a banking & PE context). You'll need to work hard to make yourself attractive to these recruiters and try attending the best school you can....
Provided you can do 700+, you should have a shot at both IMD and INSEAD. INSEAD tends to attract more recruiters from Financial Services to campus.

hi. gr8 to hear about your call from IMD. some advice sought.
im 25 yrs of age.i started my own business, dispensing station of lpg for vehicles. it was a pretty niche segment in my city and was a risky proposition. i took a bank loan, with some support from my dad. it was a new experience considering i had just one year of work ex after graduating. it has taught me a lot , right from customer service, to new challenges faced when u start something new. employee idiosyncrasies, exodus, technical issues , competition, team work etc. even though i dont have big names backing me, i have the confidence backed by experience to prove that im at par at any of my peers of my age.I DON'T HAVE internationAL work ex. how do i make this look impressive for the adcom to consider giving me a chance

Hello All, NOTE: This post doesn't have a question nor is aimed at dispensing any gyaan. Just letting out some frustration. I cannot believe that I had been aiming for IMD all along (over 3 yerars now) and yet managed to miss the first deadline on Feb 28th!!! Partly because of the fact that I was out of the country and partly because of the damn essays! I cannot believe that the essays can take so long. It has been more than a month since I started and work pressure and the writer's block have delayed it. Reading my juvenile articulation to the "Why MBA?" and "What position after MBA" makes me cringe. Do others feel the same? I wish I could put my answers into the "Winning Essays" machine and out comes a crisp, well-articulated 1230 characters (please note with spaces) essay for IMD. After years of counseling on MBA applications when my own turn comes I feel like a dim-wit. Arun PS: This is entire post is about 1200 characters (again with spaces) so you can imagine how difficult it is to answer a question such as “What do you consider to be your single most important achievement and why?” in the given space constraint.

The IMD essays should be a breeze.... ..
This apart remember the rules - active verbiage, short sentences, no superlatives for the adjectives / verbs, brutal focus on essay question and no wider, perfect & crisp grammar... shouldn't be a problem at all!
Let me know if / how I can assist. PM me. | | | | | The Following User Says Thank You to baccardisprite For This Useful Post:

Were all your recommendations completed before April 2nd? orientalkhichdi/baccardisprite,
I requested the adcom for 1-2 day extension for one of my recommendations in an email over a week back, but haven't heard from them yet.
Since one of my recommenders was travelling he was able to submit his recommendation 2 days after the deadline. Would my application which I submitted on April 1st still be considered for R2. The remaining supporting docs were received a few weeks before the deadline.
Thanks | | | | | | | |

From my experience with B-schools all over the world, they will consider your application.
I ended up getting my recos submitted for EVERY college 2 days after the deadlines as one of my recommenders was always travelling.
Yet, each and every school I applied was kind enough to consider the application.
However, they won't respond to such requests as that would be tantamount to say that they encourage late submissions.
ATB for your application. Quote:

Dear Candid guy,
I think you should be ok.. your application would be considered for Round 2.. you can just call the MBA office once to confirm receipt of all documents and confirm that they are considering you for this round.
Cheers,
OK | | | | | | | |
