This is a great forum and I have been reading this all along.
Appreciate all sincere stories in this forum.

My question is about the interview calls for Round-1 for Jan2009 batch. When will IMD start sending it and Do they send all invites at once after 6 weeks or they incrementaly send it over couple of weeks?

As far as I know, interview calls for applications filed by the 1st round deadline should have started going out. They go out over a few days.

Sorry you had to wait for a response. I waded into the thread late and missed earlier messages, while Khichdi is (probably) managing the crushing pressures of term 1 right now...

Most of the first round interview calls have been sent out and some more are still on their way.. So I hope all of you who are waiting will get your's soon.. All the best...

The first interview batch is scheduled for this weekend...

Regarding placements and what kind of people should be applying.. IMD has people from all backgrounds and they all find great jobs because of the small class size.. but the idea is some schools have their core strengths.. and IMD's is Industry..The Career services is trying to work very hard to create other niche's as well..

Work permits are generally not a big problem if you join a big company.. they manage all that for you...

Same here nsgm08... have not heard anything from IMD yet.. applied in R1 and still waiting..

I want to know how much chance i have in getting admission in INSEAD/IMD
My profile:
Xth-77%
XIIth-71%
B.SC(H)-51.2%
CHARTERED ACCOUNTANT-Passed out in July'06.
PostQE-18 months in MIS,BUDGETING,INTERNAL AUDIT
PreQE-24 months in Statutory Audit,Internal Audit in medium size audit firm.
Extra Curricular activity:good but not so much toboast off.
If I manage to get 700 in GMAT what's my chance in getting in IMD or INSEAD.not interested in going for 2 year as i am 29 years old.

Would help to know 2 things:

1) What were you doing in the years after graduation but before your pre-QE mentioned above?
2) What are your career goals?

1)After graduation i have to complete my 3 years of Articleship with a CA FIRM to sit for the CA(FINAL) Exam.
Also as i have science background in graduation i have to sit for the entrance exam of CA which took 1 year to complete(minimum duration) beside the 3 years articleship period in CA FAIRM.
2) My career Goal-venturing into Investment banking(M&A,Private Equity etc.) or Consulting.
