Hello Friends,
I have been silent member of this group but I keep visiting this forum most of the time.
I applied for 2008-MBA, Lancaster in nov-end and now I got a mail from Lancaster that application is submitted and you need to go for face-to-face interview with an alumuni.
Is there anybody who has got any mail of such kind. Can anybody give me some kind of info that how the interview will be?
Regards,
Rohit Quote:

Hey even I'm applying to Lancaster. Congrats for the interview call. Could please share your profile ?
Regarding interview, I think it wil be pretty cool , just why MBA, why now, Why UK, Why lancaster type of questions. I think all the interviews have similar questions. Just be cool, confident and dress well. I don't foresse interview as a stumbling block unless you show some serious flaws in your character. By the way, are you planning to go in a suit and tie or just the normal formals ?

Hi,
I am vng 4+ yrs of exp with lots of onsite though my GMAT score is on lower side(640). Right now I have asked them where I can attend the interview? Maybe I will go in formals if not suit and tie. Quote:

Hi,
I wish to apply to the Lancaster MBA starting in 2008. I have a couple of questions regarding the references. The school website says that "two good references, usually from your current employer and someone who knows your academic ability are required".
The problem is that in my case I cannot ask my current supervisor for reco though I can get one from my previous supervisor (who left my org a few months ago). Is it acceptable then to ask a reco from my previous supervisor? Also, when they say "someone who knows my academic capability" should the other reco be from someone in my undergrad univ? That too is a bit difficult since I passed out from college more than 5 yrs ago....
Can someone please help....

I think your previous supervisor is fine . Considering the fact that he has left only couple of mnoths back, its ok. Should not be a problem. Regarding someone who can comment on academic capability, i spoke to admissions office few days back and yes they told me that they would expect someone from your undergrad university comment. If thats not possible then call them up and tell them. I think they will agree. | | | | | The Following User Says Thank You to trahul4 For This Useful Post:

Hi Rohit,
Did you finish your interview with Lancaster? How did it go? I am also required to meet a Lancaster alumni as part of the admission process for this year.
Please share your interview experience.
Thanks. | | | | | | | |

Hey Guys,
Was just going thru the LUMS MBA site and the application does not have any essays, just a statement of purpose. Could somone who has already applied clarify if this indeed is the case?
Thanks

Hey Everyone,
I just had my interview with the admissions director over the telephone day before yesterday. And then withing 24 hours I got an admit! I thought the interview didn't go that well even though it was the standard questions:
1. Why MBA?
2. Why Now?
3. Why Lancaster?
4. 3 words your team members would use to describe you?
5. Who do you think is a good leader? Why?
6. What's your opinion of the growing indian economy and it's outlook going forward with the global slowdown?
etc etc.
Best of luck to anyone else who's applying.

Hi Chetan,
Can you post your profile?
Also, can you give an idea of how long was your response to the "please explain why you wish to join this course..." question? That is the only 'essay-like' question in the whole application but it does not mention a word limit.
Additionally when did you submit your application and in much time did you receive a response?
I would be glad if you could answer the above questions.
Thanks in advance. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
