Hi Guyz,
Can any of you let me know when the preparatory classes for the 16 month MBA start ? I was told during the intvw that it starts some time in June.
Any idea abt the exact dates ?

@Team - I have not submitted either as yet. I only took my original single copy of marks cards to the PI, which also they did not ask. I don't recollect if I did send xeroxes with my form. Guess you just need 1 set now. They might most probably verify, retain for sometime and eventually return it.
@vijay - Not sure if it is for everyone. for e.g. it looks like kkjha was requested in the mail itself (kk pls confirm this if not correct)
I was also asked if I would like to attend a finance/accounting crash course session. But there was nothing bout that in the mail.
My suggestion is to let some time go by. Wait till you receive the letter etc. It should have details about everything. else, we can always ask the Bombay office later on.
Anyway, I guess we can add vijey.cet also to the lsit on top. That's 10 ppl for MBA as of now. | | | | | | | |

Hi Guyz...
Count me in too...
Just spoke to admission office in Manila .... and they informed that I've been accepted. Though I'll have to appear for Pre MBA.
As I'd appeared for interview in Manila, my name did not figure in the list for candidates accepted from India ...

Congrats guys for all those who made it! It now looks like most of the guys on PG have made it to AIM. Also, from some statistics on this portal, looks like the acceptance rate is around 30 % in India (interview to admit), as 180 applicants were interviewed in India for 55 seats. This is not too lenient a figure, I should say (which is pretty encouraging). I am sure all of us have done our homework et al, with regards to ROI, placements, career switches, peer-group diversity etc.. Could we restrospect on the same? My opinions are that, with considerable work-ex (8 years), career switching becomes a hassle. But, I think this MM program would certainly help me understand the business implications better and help me contribute effectively in situations that have huge monetary/ strategic/ business implications in the IT/ pharma industry.
A brief profile snapshot:
age: 30
work-ex: 8 years
intl work-ex: 6 years
industry: IT/ ITES/ pharma domain
functions: project delivery, execution/ project management/ resource mgmt
gmat: 730
post-MBA goal: division head of a major function in a top-notch consulting company. I also want to try my hand at entrepreneurship for a while.
I had started a thread separately for this, but was moved somewhere, dont know where.
I would love to hear from everyone on their thoughts about AIM's prospects, esp. on the placement front and strategies, if any, to secure placement. Also, it would be interesting to hear abt post-MBA goals, etc.. Please share your profiles..
Peace!

Yes guys,
I Have received the hard copy of the acceptance letter today. Regarding Pre MBA the last paragraph of the letter reads as
"Enclosed are the program calender, reservation form, pre-arrival guidelines for overseas students and academic fees. Core Pre-MBA Registration is July 18 to 20, 2007 and classes begin July 23, 2007. Registration for the MBA is July 30 to August 3, 2007. Classes will begin August 6, 2007.
Very Truly yours, | | | | | | | |

Thnks atti.
Once I'd spoken with Damodar and he had told me that this year AIM is planning to make it mandatory for everyone to attend Pre MBA classes. But seems till date they have not informed about this to anyone. So its like 50-50 for you guyz. May be information regarding this will be in the packate/letter you'll receive from AIM.
No yaar .. no update till date on schol... though I know one thing for sure that atleast 2 girls have been accepted from India ... so out of 4-5 ADB, two is already gone
I'll be joining for sure .. What about you ?? IF YOU WANT SOMETHING, ALL THE UNIVERSE WILL CONSPIRE TO HELP YOU ACHIEVE IT. --------------------------------------------------------------- http://ravishe.blogspot.com | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
