Also, I am thinking that staying in RSM accomadation will have 2 benefits -
1. One will not reach Rotterdam homeless and will not have to make lot of effort to search for a home.
2. One will have loads of people around and it will enable mingling with lots of people.

What say?
Hi Neon

I have checked quite a few banks now and the info I got from SBI initially was also incorrect. They do provide loans to student with work ex as well. Almost all nationalized banks have the same procedures depending on whether you want to give some collateral or not. It will be easier to get a loan from a bank where you already have an account. Am also following up with Credila - check out credila.com

Was speaking with a couple of current students and RSM accomodation seems to the best bet ya....the guy i spoke with was paying €495 for a sharing accod earlier and is now paying €550 for a single apt.

Cheers

Credila seems to be good site. I'll have to dig a little deeper though. btw which bank have you finalized with.

Also which accomadation are you specifically thinking about?

have you applied for MVV and legalization of birth certificate? Confirm me - is it mandatory to have a birth certificate no older than six months?

take care, neon.

Have narrowed it down to HDFC , OBCC, SBI and Canara bank but still not final yet.

I have not decided on the accomodation also as yet...did you have a look at the housing website and the appartments already??

Have not applied for the MVV since I am still to pay the deposit...will be doing that in a couple of days...but ya it is true that you need a birth certificate issued within the last 6 months to get it legalized...the guy i spoke with said that the visa is not a problem but the legalization of the birth cert. can take a lot of time depending on where you are from...so he suggested focussing on getting that done first.

I think SBI is fine to go for bank loan but not sure.

I have checked the housing website and also heard that many people are of the opinion that finding an apt by ourself is cheaper but again looking for an apt is very difficult especially in september when many students come. Still not decided but I think to avoid all the pain and stuff i'll for RSM accomadation.

MVV not yet applied and will be getting birth certificate in the beginning of may.

what about the deposit, still not decided whether to go for RSM or not?

take care, neon.

hey! this is Ananth here, admitted to RSM for Oct'08. Congrats on all admits. Seems like discussions on the applications have subsided a little. So, all in all how many Indians are estimated to make it to RSM this Oct...??

Hi Sameer! After all some life to this thread!

I am awaiting the bank loan sanction letter, after which I shall start the process. Meanwhile I plan to remit the 500 Euros to RSM by this month. Legalizing the B.C is also a big pain, lot of RUNNING around involved.
Hey, are u on the facebook?? quite a few over there...

Hi Ananth

I still have not received a mail from RSM asking me to remit the amount for the visa processing. When did you get it or do you have to do that on your own initiative?

Did you choose housing yet??

Am not on facebook as of now but will create a profile now.

Cheers

Sameer

Hey

You would have received the mail in your rsm webmail. (www.webmail.rsm.nl). I have booked room 376 at I-House, guess many have done so too.
