One last query. Does submitting the score late (after i get the scores of 2nd spjat reduce my chance of admission, though i had applied in early june?
will the candidates be collectively called for the GD PI process(i mean starts after the deadline) ? Or has the institute started sending GD PI calls?

I applied to S.P. Jain in last session i.e. May 08, for IT specialization.

Breif Profile:
X: 64.xx %
XII: 64.xx %
BE(Honors): 76.38%
CAT: 90.xx %ile
I also gave SpJat: 98.44 %ile

17 months of relevant experience(on ERPs) at the time of application.

Decent Extra Curriculars:
NCC-C certificate holder.
Microsoft Specialist Certification.
Organized Events at college and company level.
Published Whitepapers.


Still I was not selected for evaluation. Can you please let me know the possible reasons for my profile not being selected even after scoring high in apptitude test.
I am planning to re-apply, so i would like to work on my weaknesses. Your feedback will give me some idea as to where i am lagging, and then i can work on that and try to balance it.

Hi,

No, we do not pool all applications until the last date for submission and then call selected candidates. ours is a rolling admissions process wherein applications are screened as and how they are received.

We will be doing the needful from our end in any case as the scores are available with us. you need not send a special mail for this.

Hi,

Well I have mentioned in my previous posts that only a high aptitude test /CAT/GMAT score does not assure you of being called for the evaluations.

The Admissions Commitee will look into your entire profile as a whole to assess whetehr you are suitable to be shortlisted or not.

your profile does seem fine but I would also like to bring to your notice that we receive applications from some outstanding candidates esp for the IT spez and hence competition for places is very high.

I cannot give you the exact reason for your not being selected last time - it could be the acads or the work ex or any otehr factor.

I suggest you may reapply as you would have some more work ex this time

Dear mam,

While filling the application form i had a doubt. The application form mentions that you need to update your GPA/percent for 1/2/3 and 4th year. But in case i have a semester wise system. Where in each year has 2 semester, do i take a average of both the semester and update it as my GPA for that particular year.

In case i had : 8.71 in 8th sem and 8.05 in 7th sem.
Do i put it as 8.38 (avg. of both sem) as my GPA for 4th year.

Hi Mam,

It was mentioned on the SP Jain website that:

"However, applications will be scrutinized on a rolling basis. In other words each application will be evaluated as and when received. The chances for getting selected will therefore be higher the sooner you apply. The admissions may be closed sooner than the last date."

Now as I my GMAT scheduled on 14th August'08,so should wait till then before applying or should I apply now(as it seems that aplying early is advantageous) without the score and send my score later when i give the GMAT.

Which option would you suggest?
