Hi,
Firstly let me tell you that offered students are not to use Pagalguy as the official forum to address their queries - you have to email the official id - gmba@spjain.org with your questions
1) well we would not have selected you for the IB spec if we thought you would be at a disadvantage over others at the time of placements
2) Pls do not go by any odd figures - the official figures are only available on our website and have not yet been put up - once the placements are complete we would be posting this info ourselves on the website
3) I'm afraid we cannot provide such breakups
Thanks

1) Placement: I have a work ex of two years with Wipro Ltd. and my profile mainly revolved around Transition, Project management, Operations in area of Finance and Accounts (auditing, variance analysis, Payroll taxation, pension for a client in UK). More or less, I am not too ahead of a fresher when it comes to IB as a specialisation. Having seen the profile of last batch, I can say that there will be people with qualifications like CA, CFA etc.I know it depends on an individual to fetch good placement but I was concerned about my standing in comparison (assuming if CA and I perform equally well).
2) Latest figures: As per the latest placement data, both; average and highest salary has decreased. A variation in highest is something which happens but average or rather median is something which represents correct picture. Can you please throw some light re Median?
3) Components of CTC: Would you be able to comment of fixed and variable components of average salaries?
Thanks much in advance for your help.

You could be falling on either work ex, acads, extra curriculars, acheivements etc
We do not give out specific reasons for being waitlisted
Thanks

I am really concerned rite now as there is no change in my application status so far. I am a little impatient now as the status still reads the same everytime i open the website and enter my details.
I am not really sure that what criteria do I fall short of. I know the application is reviewed time and again by the admission committee but can you please let me know that when can I know the final status of my application (either rejected or shortlisted for evaluation) as it would help me to a great extent in planning my future ( as the wait has been a little too long now for me )
Below mentioned is my profile for your reference:
10th : 82.8%
12th: 96.1%
B.Tech (NIT kurukshetra): 75%
IT Experience : 20 months till date as a Software Engineer
Excellent extra curriculars and work achievements | Regards, Shweta Chhabra Sr. Academic Counselor SPJCM -Dubai/Singapore

Thanks
Shweta | Thanks for that information madam. You said u dont have a fixed no. of seats but then the status reads as follows: Thank you for the interest shown in S P Jain, Dubai-Singapore’s GMBA (May 2008 intake) program and going through our evaluation process. In view of the huge demand for our program and the limited no. of seats available with us, you are presently on our active waitlist. Periodically (there is no specific time frame for doing so - it is done as and when the need for doing so arises) this list is reviewed and students offered admission. Please check this website at intervals to ascertain if there has been any change in your admission status.

Hi,
yes I did mention that we do not have a fixed no of seats - but we obviously do not have infinite seats - there are a limited no of seats - as you know the batch strength is about 300 - but even if we only find 290 good students who meet our requirements we would be happy but we will not just take any 10 students to merely fill our seats to 300
Thats the point I was trying to explain to you
I hope I have made myself clear this time
Thanks

Hi,
1. I had taken CAT in Feb'04 and scored 91.8percentile. I have also scheduled my GMAT for 28th May. Will I be eligible to apply??
2. I have 3.5 yrs of work-ex in Executing in-house Engineering projects for a renowned Manufacturing Company in India. But my interest lies in finance, though I dont have any knowledge in the domain. Will I be considered for courses like Wealth Management. If yes, what will be my chances at the placement??
Thanks & Regards | | | | | | | |

Hi,
1. We only accept CAT scores of upto the apst 2 years so your CAT score of 04 will not be valid. You are taking the GMAT in the end of May which is beyond our closing date for admissions, hence even that wouldnt be valid. You may apply as of now and if found suitable we will shortlist you to take the apt test on 4th April
2. Yes, you may apply for WM, we do have engg students who have taken up finance streams. Students who were from engg backgrounds and who opted for finance have all been placed well.
Thanks
