Hi,

Well just for the record - on viewing your application i notice that you have 58% not just in your 1st year but in your 2nd year as well. So that does make alot of difference,

At times the admissions commitee is willing to overlook one factor if a student is outstanding in other areas.

And the academics are of utmost importance to us while shortlisting a candidiate.

I have repeated in various posts that we require students ideally to havea first class ALL throughout. SO I think we have been transparent enough.

At times you may come across a candidate who may not have a first class in their 1/2 yr and have still been shortlisted - that is very rare and only if the candidate has made up for the lack of academics by being outstanding in other areas.

And FYI we do receive some outstanding applications for the IB spec and hence competition for places is tough

In that case don't you think that SpJain should mention the minimum admission criteria on the site. This will help students to shortlist the colleges where they want to apply and see whether they are eligible for the same or not.

I and one of my friend both had a same profile the only difference was he was having 61% in his first year of graduation and i am having 58%. He was called for the interview that means its only because of my first year marks.And as you said "Some ofthese candidates must be outstanding in other areas", whatever be the case they are still short of the some minimum criteria and you are providing them an extra chance. It is unfair for the students like me who can't change their graduation marks.

I always use to think that Sp Jain will have a transparent admission procedure but sorry to say i am not able to see any transparency in the admission procedure.

Hi Madam,

As per the portal the last round of evaluations are to be done on the weekend of april 4.
My application, application number: 22799-IT, is still not updated. Can you please tell me the final date uptill which the statuses will be updated. And secondly madam as per your review what are my chances..

I cannot comment on your chances as that is a decision of the Admissions COmmitee

Hi madam,I have applied for GLSCM and had my evaluations on 8th march.I have been put on waitlist-post evaluations.Is the competition tough in GLM as well.Is it possible for u to tell how many seats are vacant in GLM stream?What are my chances for the offer?

Hi puneet,this is anurag (appl GLM-20092).I have appeared for gd/pi on 8th march and have got waitlist-post evaluations.I am from chanakya(1997-2000 batch).Did u went uptil directors interview?Any other candidates u know who have applied for GLM?This will help me ascertain my chances.

Hi Shweta,

My Application no. is : WM 21623. My GD/PI was on 9th March. I see most of the guys with their results. They have either been accepted or wait-listed. Does that mean that those who haven't got the results yet (if anyone is still there!) are rejected.

I tried logging into my application to check my status, but it shows me an error. Could you please tell me whether I will be getting the result in a day or two or should i contact someone. If possible please telll my result as i am not able to login to the result page.

Hello mam, I am a software engineer and have filled for may 2008 batch, my application number is 23076-IT. Can you please confirm if the application is complete in all respect, as the first time i submitted, it erased my academic entries and asked me to fill them again. So I am little apprehensive as to there might have been some software glitch.
My details are
X 79
XII 77.7
BE from top 10 institutes in India 84.6.
Work ex 18 months
CAT 95.35.

I am hopeful of being in the shortlist and do not want to lose out due to software problem.

Also is filling up this late leaves me at a disadvantage. Thanks a lot.

Hi suren , i know one more guy from glm in this forum who is waitlisted.What do you think is there a tough competition in GLSCM stream?
I am from merchant navy.Which background are u from?and with how much of work exp?What do u think is the reason for u being waitlisted?
