Hey I have 4 years of workex and since they dont take XAT score I plan to give it through SPJAT , the point is that is it really worth it ??? After 4years of work ex !! Please help someone

Worth it or not depends on lot of factors?
i guess u are not getting admission in top 10-15 b schools thats why applying here else why would u apply here? right?
if u arent getting admission there then this is pretty good .
Its a bit pricey but has decent placements , and moreover mba is a thing that will take a little time to give you real benefits.After you do your mba and when you start working only then you will realise the true worth of an M.B.A. If you expect exhorbitant amounts of salary and if thats the only reason to do an mba i guess u should try iim then.

Could you make your query a bit more clear please. What is worth it? Taking the exam? Or the Course?Or your choice of the B school?

The eligibility criterion clearly says you have to submit test scores of either of :
1.cat
2.gmat
3.spjat
Three golden opportunities!!

And does 4 years of work ex mean that the elgibility criterion could be bent/waved off ?

There is a purpose for every requirement in any b school admission process. It is upto you to decide what B school and what programme you want to apply for and then follow the process accordingly. Request you to refrain from asking such queries. Please take this in the positive sense and go ahead with the application process. ATB.

And besides quite a few ppl are getting calls from quite a few top 10-15 b schools , and still applying to this one. sp s/d is a brand unto its own and is no less compared to others.. Please take this in the positive sense. Cheers..

Well no offense meant !! About the top 10-15, well to be honest its not like something which I would have 10-15 ranks, it would be really vague to say that I have not got admission in 10-15, again its your perception what you take as top 10-15 , so I would say that ranking is always our perception so maybe man emant his top 10-15.
Ok Now about the query about the college , I never asked the college staus or its worth, I believe that every college is a worth initself wether Harvard or IIMS or whatever.
Well what I meant to ask was that whether, there are enough Lateral Placements for guys with 4 years of work ex.

The other part about understanding the worth of MBA , well aman what you need to understand , which again is my individual perception, its not that you understand the worth of the course later, but then MBA is that phase of your life, where in you have definitely finished a major chunk of your life studying and you are focussed and that is the reason why you are going for your MBA and not ath you maybe able to value or measre the worth later.

PS Aman : I have been selected in top 7 colleges according to your rank , that I can bet , but left them for no reason . I am a lil mad . NOw I feel that I have reached that part of my career where in i feel taht MBA is a perquisite to go ahead or progress in my life . I am also a bit frustrated as I ahve 98 % in XAT and no calls , so thought of applying to SPJAIN .

I have just received an email from GMBA calling me for the evaluations round for the May 2008 intake scheduled on 9th and 10th Feb... Just wondering if I am alone here. And also I have a doubt regrding the payments to be made. Do the final payments have to be made on the date of confirmation? I believe the results are announced on the same day itself (correct me if I'm mistaken??). Or shuld I send it in only by the last date as given in the website (April 15th). There is a little confusion there with all the different batches starting at different times... Am asking abt the payments bcos this course is the costlier option and am in a good chance to get a fair few calls... So would like to delay making the payments (if selected, of course) to the very end...

Would be good if I received a reply even if the speculation is a little premature ...

hi ckinpaagal,

I dont think teh result is going to be declared immidiately.Reg payments, feb 4 is the last day to pay Rs. 2500.The result is expecetd to out in 3 weeks with either of the three outcomes.This was mentioned in the Call letter.

By the way,i received the call fior evaluation today ..this is what i figured out..

if we are selected(which i hope will happen ) theer is a deadline to pay the fees(this is the course fees)... those details will be told on getting the offer.

as of now we need to pay the evaluation fees of Rs. 2500 b4 feb 4...
