Hi Shweta,
Had a couple of queries!!!
I wanted to know whether the placements (read packages and profiles) the same for both the Jan batch and may/june batches?? As in companies generally go hunting for B grads during novemember! I tried browsing thru the website for placement statistics of the last June batch (June 2007 passouts that is) but couldn't find them!!!
Secondly, Its a 1 yr prgrm , so is there any thing like summer internship, if YES then for how many days/weeks! Cos I think summers give a good amount of exposure to enable the candidate select his profile/role for final placement!
Thanks in advance

Hi Saurabh,
Yes your CAT score is fine as it meets our cut off. The score is looked at the time of shortlisting candidates for the Evaluations. During Evaluations we look at otehr ciriteria.
Academics are very important and are looked at v closely at all times
The no if students placed out side India and within India is clearly metnioned on our website.
Thanks

Hi,
There is no difference between the placemnts of jan and june.
Companies need talented professionals year round. Most Indian b schools have just one intake - May/june - hence companies would naturally have to hire around that time when students graduate.
Infact the avg salaries have gone up of the Jan 07 batch from around 11 lacs (for June 06) to 14.6 lacs for the Jan 07 batch.
You have a 3 week break before you switch from Dubai toSing or vice versa.
At that time you are free tp pursue an internship.
Thanks

Banking Management
Hi Ms Rutty,
I have a few questions regarding BM. Since this is a relatively new course, the alumni were not the best source for these -
1. How is the industry response to the course in Dubai/India/Singapore? Which companies have been the biggest recruiters for BM - local banks, MNC banks, Indian banks, FIs, etc.
2. Is it fair to assume that Singapore placements are predominantly for IT or has SP Jain created a name in the Singapore financial sector as well (since this is a new campus and faces stiff competition from Insead, NUS etc)? How are the placements for BM students in S'pore?
3. Is not having a banking experience before taking up the BM course an issue with the prospective recruiters? Are these students treated as freshers in the banking industry, if their previous experience was
in other fields?
4. Compared with countries in Europe and US who give a one year work permit after a masters program, Dubai does not. So do SPJ students face any issues while applying for jobs off-campus in Dubai/Singapore?
Thanks. | | | | | | | |

Hi,
Well all these details arevery clearly given on our website - as the placements and company list both are mentioned stream wise
It is not necessary to have prior banking experience inorder to get placed well.
Alot of our BM studnets who were from say engg backgrounds have been placed well.
There are no visa issues as the company that hires you applies for your work permit
thanks
