HI Dominique,
Thank you for your query. A lot of students Im sure would have the same doubts.
PLs understand that our eligibility criteria is different from that of SPJIMR, Mumbai.
While SPJIMR, Mumbai comes under the system of centralised admissions via CAT etc we have our own admissions procedure.
We do not lay emphasis on ONLY the entrance test scores and look at the application as a whole keeping in mind other factors like work expreice, academics, personality, smartness, extra curriculars, achievements etc as we feel that the overall aptitude and ability of the candidate matters more to us than just the entrance test score.
So while the basis for shortlisting candidates of most Indian B-schools would be very high CAT,XAT,CET scores our emphasis is on overall profile of the students.
Hence it is not necessary that someone who has a percentile of 92 in CAT would surely be shorltisted by us, as he may not be meeting any of our otehr requirements, whereas someone who has a CAT percentile of 84 might get shortlisted if he satisfies all the otehr criteria.
There is no difference in the reputation or prestige value or recognition amongst the industry between SPJIMR, Mumbai or SPJCM, Dubai/Singapore.
Each enjoys its own place among recruiters and both are held in high regard.
Infact students from SPJCM, Dubai-Singapore have been placed in similar pay brackets in similar Indian companies as their counterparts from SPJIMR, Mumbai.
Hope i have sorted yours as well as many of the other students doubts.
pls do let me know if you have any further questions, i would be more than happy to answer all of them.
