Hi Rutty,

When can we expect the results for the evaluations conducted on Oct 13 and 14?

Can you throw some light on how long will this take?

We were told that it will be out on Friday/Saturday.

Thanks.

First things first...Thank you so much for taking time to answer our questions.

Here are my questions :
1). Why did SPJain choose Dubai & Singapore only for this course?
2). I have heard that many students who complete this course in Dubai get placed in Dubai. Is this true?..Appreciate if you can throw some light on the location wise placement of students. Honestly, I have some reservations over working in Dubai.
3). Approximately how many International students (Non Indians) participate in this course?

Hi,
1) Just to let you know that if you plan to take the CAT this Nov 07 - then it wont be valid for our Jan 08 intkae as the results would be out only in Jan. A previous CAT score of upto the past 3 years could be used.
We need just ONE score that meets our cut off. It could be any of these - CAT/XAT/GMAT/SPJAT. All carry equal weightage and one is not given preference over the other.

2) Firstly, let me clarify the avg salalries are no longer 8-9 lakhs p.a - they have gone up to 11 lakhs p.a - pls check our website it is there under the placements for the June 06 intake.
yes definitely the salary pakages would depend on your past experience

3) International companies do visit our capmus and a good number of our students have also been placed abroad. Again for this you need to go thru our placements section on our website or on SP Jain Dubai and Singapore - Admission Queries

hope your queries have been answered and your doubts have been cleared

Thanks

bt i guess ther is a spjmat as well...so would u advise ppl to go in fr the cat scores or the spjmat...whcih scores are given more weightage and yes is there any correlatiob between the two ?

is it neccessary to clear both tests or would once suffice ?

2) Can i please knw the avergage salaries (coz the avg salaries quoted by you is 8-9 lacs)
do u think after spending 11 lacs and gettina pkg of 8-9 is justified ? I'm presently wrking for TCS , New Delhi (India) and will be completing 20 months of wrk ex once i get intoa b school.wat are my chances of gettin into laterals ? do salary packages vary fr people who are expereinced ?

3) Do companies come to spjain dubai from across the globe or is it only indain companies who come in fr placements ? The only matter of concern being th fact tht will guys be getting their money's worth or not ?

hope u l clarify my queries to the optimum level possible !!!

Re: Ask SP Jain Dubai & Singapore: Official Admission Query Thread - 19-10-2007, 02:26 PM

Dear Dilip,
1) The cut off of 75%ile remains the same irrespective of the students background.
It is a reasonable score anyways so we cannot relax it further.
Also we do test you on areas otehr than Maths/quant like Verbal, Logic, reasoning,GK etc.

2) Every year we review all our specialisations keeping in mind factors like market trends and demand and redundant spec are replaced with upcomng ones. hence we naturally feel there is a demand for managers in the HRM spec and so we introduced the same.
As i have said in my previous posts even our GLM spec started only in June 06 and students has a lot of apprehensions abt the same.
But today they hvae all been placed well and the placemnts firgures are tehre for all to see

3) Your 15months experience would definitely be considered

4) HRm starts in Singapore and ends in Dubai

Hope i have sorted all your queries
Thanks

I have applied for the Jan intake of the SPJCM(Dubai & Singapore) and had taken the aptitude test conducted by SP Jain on 12th August 2007 but unfortunately i got a very low score which compelled and also challenged me to take up the aptitude test once again, which is on 4th Nov. I have primarily 4 questions to you(pls anwer all 4):

1) I have finished my Bachelors in Law from the Bangalore University with high second class. Will my graduation background be considered while considering the cut-off or will it be considered at par with a student who has finished his engineering? I am asking this as i went thru somewhere that the cut-off is 75 so "in case" if i dont get that will my application be outrightly rejected? This is my personal opinion and i dont want to generalise this- what i feel is that there should be some relaxation given to students from other backgrounds, as you see in my case i have lost touch with maths which gives me very little chance to score over even an average engineering student. Our competencies should therefore be tested in other areas. I hope you have understood me.

2) I have opted for the new specialisation i.e, HRM which is being offered for the first time and as any other student i am quite apprehensive about placements to this first HRM batch. Will there be successful placements to them?

3)I had attended the seminar which was held for prospective students and the hon'ble VP Mr. Abraham of SP Jain took the session and he was very specific that people with some experience would be given preference, so my question here would be - As i specified earlier i have recently passed out my LL.B, i have no work experience, but i have a 15 month experience as Asst. Paralegal with a law firm in Bangalore, wil this be considered or will i be given a second preference as i have understood by Mr. Abrahams words?

4) Will the whole G-HRM course be conducted in Dubai? I am asking this because when i went thru the SP Jain website i came to know that this specialisation is being introduced for the first time in only Dubai.

I hope my queries will be satifactorily answered by you, as i see you have very sincerely answered other students queries.

Thanks in advance and warm regards,

Dilip Manivala.

The extra cost differs from intake to intake. you will have to manage your spouses visa on your own

1) My answer would be why not Dubai or Singapore! They are both world class cities and by far their regions fastest growing economies with a highly progressive outlook
2) This is not true , where you end your course doesnt necessarliy mean that you would get placed there as well.
3) majority of our students are Indian.
Thanks
