They don't let you know the weight age of essays but while you go for the panel interviews, they read your essays before interviewing you... So the better you write, the more impressive you look...

So u had to write the essay before the interview..
Other then SPJAT how many rounds will be there...
How was the interview ... do they grill too much
can u tell me after how many days of submission of ur application u got the interview call..

Maverick i think this essay writting you are talkin bout is only for those who are taking SPJAT....those who are using there CAT or XAT scores, do they also need 2 write essays...also can u share ur GD PI experience..

I have got an evaluation for the 13th of October...all those who have allready attended it during 1st / 2nd Sept, can you please share your experiences? what all the evaluation process generally includes? How does it generally go? What are they looking at?

The SPJAT scores would be used to shortlist you for the evaluation call.

This is followed by evaluations...which comprize off:

1. Two general essays
2. One Business essay
3. GD
4. Panel PI
----------------------
5. Director PI

All those who are called up for evaluation undergo 1 to 4. After teh panel interview there is a shortlisting and these shortlisted guys/gals are then interviewed by teh director. I'm not sure of the percentage of shortlisted for teh last intervw to that of teh total people called for evaluation. But it is
a healthy one for sure.

I had got the evaluation call for teh 1st of september...It was within a week(3 days to be precise) of my submission that i got teh call....It keeps happening on a rolling basis... but i guess you should be hearing from them in a week to 10 days time.

Everyone called for the evaluation are asked to write essays...irrespective of weather they have applied thru CAT, XAT or SPJAT...


Coming to the evaluation queries.....
# Had to write two essays initially...1. A leadership act that you did recently
2. An innovative solution you provided in your work place.
# A business Essay ...You are head of Business of Service/product...what 3 things would you do to increase sales!
We had a group of 20 ppl..mixed batch...We were divided into half and had the GD...
# GD: 1. How imp is gandhism in todays life..
2. MAnagement Studies - how imp is it to succeed in business...
We had to choose one.. we chose 2. ALl spoke well..put forward their points.. Try to conclude within the group..
Thats what they look forward too...Everyone gets time... to speak...and be a gud listener as well..
# then we had the certificate verification followed by panel interview...
# PAnel Int: there were 2 ppl..They asked to introduce and what i do..and y MBA.. normal questions...don't worry...
this was a elimination one.....IF you clear this you are interviewed by Director..else you aren't...
# directors Interview...normal...very few q....Same like the panel...

No i was just asking have u filled the form.. because i have asked them they said u can fill the form and submit it... and then after wards u can give the test score... but now i think i will be doing it after i have my test score.
