I completed my Evaluation process yesterday at Mumbai. Just thought of sharing my feedback with you on the overall experience (thought of appreciating the “good” part & suggesting some “improvements” in some of the areas in the current eval process) Things which went on well- The support staff (especially the lady in charge of VERIFYING our documents, the lady who was routing people for interview/GD, the Photostat guy who was helping us Xerox our documents) was really patient, helpful, co-operative throughout the day (handling all the people who had turned up for the interview spread over 3 batches for that day). From a candidates point of view, he is interested in getting over with the formalities for himself but for the support staff it is a routine (and actually a monotonous) exercise to handle so many candidates in one day – but still they showed lot of energy in doing the job.
- The second round of interview which was taken by the Director himself, was also a nice experience and I should praise Mr. Director for being such a patient listener (since for most of us, for most of the time during the interview it was we who were asking our queries to him and he was replying to each of the questions in detail). Even though files of so many candidates were lying in front of him for processing, he was giving enough time to each of us.
Things which has scope of improvement- As part of the evaluation process guidelines being sent to the short-listed candidates , the following things can be high-lighted / reiterated & added (in addition to what is currently there)
- They need to bring 3 Passport Size Photos (this requirement is missing in the existing guidelines)
- All the documents (copy of originals like Passport, academic marksheets/certificates,experience certificate) needs to be ATTESTED – otherwise during the document verification process , the candidates needs to sign an UNDERTAKING that they will be sending a ATTESTED copy set once they return home after the evaluation. (So to save time in writing the under-taking and to speed up the whole verification process, they are advised to carry the ATTESTED docs with them. This point need to be reiterated since most of the candidates were taking this point lightly.)
- The candidates can bring with them a XEROX set of the ATTESTED copies,Application form (one with the photo) & call letter, since that is required to be submitted (this requirement is missing in the existing guidelines, and it was quite a time consuming experience of getting it Xeroxed at the eval center so why not the candidates can be told to come prepared.)

~AM | Hi,
Can you please tell me whether the people who give the recommendations are contacted later on for the any further queries by the admission committe?
If yes, in how much time approx after submitting the recommendation letters are they contacted and by what means(email, telephone etc)?
I am a bit worried as the person who is going to recommend me would be travelling out of the country for some time and might not be available....
thanxs

Dear Vivek_ggupta,
For SPJAT the cut off is 75%tile and abv.It is one of the criteria for shortlisting, the cut off is what we look at and the overall profile.
