However, with an exp <5 yrs, I am extremely wary of my chances but luking ahead towards a grilling intv experience.

Thanks,

Hi Ranajay,

Did you get interview call even though you had less than 5 years of exp? What happened with your interview call? I am sorry asking this question after 1 year. But I am in a similar situation. Your insights will really help.

Devang

Hi,

I am in a dilema like most of you who are planning for an MBA. Have around 8 years of Sales and IT exeprience. Really keen to join PGPEX program but still undecided wheather to for an international MBA or PGPEX

Found this forum in google and thought of putting my pain areas as i see most of you are in the same boat.

Planning to appear for GMAT soon. Am not really sure what IIMC is looking for?

Engg background from state engg college
not so good academic scores
3 years of Internation experience with big consulting firms
in Europe

Would appreciate if somebody suggests me to go for it? What are the chances of cracking into PGPEX. Seeing the posts it looks very tough!!!

The decision to go for an international MBA depends on many factors such as your plans post MBA, finances, family factors, etc.
For GMAT, past two batches' average scores have been close to 710, for IT candidates the average score is a bit more.

Re: PGPEX 2008-09 : IIMA and IIMC - 30-10-2008, 04:08 AM

Good day,

Can someone evaluate my profile and recommended whether I have chances for getting admission in IIM-A?

Age : 29

Work Experience : 6 years (last 2 years managing, leading IT Teams ,Rest is 4 years IT ) , All in Australia
Experience in nutshell :-
6 years all consulting experience on various clients in Mails & Logistic area , Online search.
Client interaction is all the time and work closely with the management team.
Last2 .5 years has been more leading managing roles on client side :-
1) Leading a operation team ( 6 months)
2) Leading a development team ( 1 year)
3) Project Manager and Delivery lead for all minor works ( 1 year)

Grades:-
Under grade: 70 %
Graduate is around the same.

I am not sure this will help or not, But i am also done certification in Prince2 Project management methodology

Qualification : MS(Australia) IT - Computer Science
B.Tech(IT) India
Citizenship : Australia (Previously Indian)
GMAT Score : 700
Do you think GMAT score is enough to get into these schools?

Regards

Vik

Hi Vik,
Ur profile appears to be alright, however ur GMAT scores is slightly on the lower side, considering ur work profile(IT). U have all the time to appear in GMAT again before applying in IIMA 2010-2011 batch. So I sugget u to go for an improvement in GMAT as it is in ur hand. One cannot change his work profile drastically in next 7-8 months, but one can easily improve his GMAT score.
Regards
Deep

Thanks Deep for your reply. I have only one concern, is there any difference in 700 or 720? I should improve 40 - 50 points ?
And other thing i was planning to do is to try and get job in management consultancy. I hope working there for 8 months will help me to get admission as well as post admission . What are your thought on this ?
Also doing some volunteer work ... Not sure if this help ?

Vik
