Can't that be done simply by asking junta to subscribe to this thread.
if a mailing group is absolutely necessary - i have no issues with it.
but what r we gonna do/achieve with it???
keep in touch types is it??? some clarity on the objectives of the list would help take things forward.

all these are just differents route to success, and all of us are free to choose whatever path we like...

it was just a suggetion frm my side to make a common group for the d common cause....

i think that lets nt divert frm main goal so lets forget abt mailing list/group....

Re: Abroad B-School Deadlines (2007) - 27-08-2006, 11:04 PM

Hi, Im a Noob here. Can someone tell me what these deadlines mean? I'm planning to start preparing for GMAT now, & take the test in a couple of months. Is there something about timing, as when to apply to get the best possible university for the score? Is there any previous thread on this...

and "applying" means just taking the GMAT test (by selecting the 5 universities?)..

Re: Abroad B-School Deadlines (2007) - 31-08-2006, 12:45 AM

Hi Nice Guy,

First of all, "applying" means applying (submitting a complete application) to Univs for admission. Taking the GMAT and selection of univs is only preparation. One normally applies after one has completed GMAT, TOEFL etc.

Every University generally has three "rounds" (shortened to R1 R2 R3 by us) of admissions. Every round has a deadline by which you must apply to be considered in that round. The dates vary from university to university: Harvard R1 deadline is October 11, 2006 (for admission to Fall 2007 course) and Duke Univ R1 deadline is Oct 30, 2006.

The admissions are on a rolling basis so you can apply by the deadline of any round but internatinal applicants are advised to apply by R2 deadlines, to leave enough time for visa etc. Plus if you are looking for scholarship or financial aid, it is better to apply by R1 deadline

Hope this helps

Rakesh

I wanted to correct you buddy. Admissions are not on a rolling basis at most of the schools such as Wharton will start reviewing apps only when the deadline is over whereas Columbia has started reviewing applications from Aug 16 even though the deadline is Oct 12, 2006.

Just wanted to make it clear.
