About the question of US and Canada schools .. it is pretty simple
If you want to work in US : Go for an US school
If you want to work in Canada : Go for Queens.
The only thing that Queens doesnt have is that it is not popular in Asia and Europe but last week our Dean Dr.David M. Saunders has informed us that Queens now has a deal with ISB and MDI and he is in process of signing deals with some of the top management colleges in China.
Hope that I have given the details you have requested. If you have any more questions please post them and I will do my best to answer them.
Regards,
KC

Hi Azeem,
Some of the Queens Alumuni have been placed in the I-Banking sector. The thing is campus placement happens in September and by that time the finance courses would not have started so most of the students are not familiar with the Financial terms, so the campus placements are few compared to other colleges (in 2006 batch 30-40% got placed in Campus in September - this is an unofficial figure and the school would be releasing the official figures soon). But in Feb/Mar you can contact the companies directly and in canada "Queens" is highly respected so you will be having any problems in getting the interview calls and rest is ofcourse dependent on how you convert that interview into a job. From 2006 batch there are quite few who went into the I-Banking sector (I know atleast 6 people who got jobs in that sector). I want to tell you few things about employment after queens :
a. The knowledge you will be getting in the 1 Year MBA is comparable and even better than many of the top 1 yr MBA programs.
b. After the course it is not difficult to get a "JOB" but it needs some effort from your part to get the "JOB YOU LOVE" and the school extends its support to the maximum.
c. In canada "Queens" is one of hte most reputed university so everyone knows that only the top notch guys are admitted into the program and their expectations are quite high once you have the "Queens" stamp.
d. The rich alumuni of the school is a big advantage to get a job in any of the sectors.
Regards,
KC

how many of the graduates move to US after graduation? This is assuming one has work authorization there..I have seen Ivey and Rotman graduates having a strong base in US especially NYC..but I guess since Queen's class size is small, maybe comparisons are wrong?

Hi,
I think you have answered the question by yourself but just to add that most of the people who come to Queens dont have a valid US visa but there are some cases like one student got an offer from Deloitte and he is placed in Bay area, Toronto but he as Deloitte's office is in NY he might go there and work too. QSB is making its effort to increase its international placements and just FYI Infosys came last year for the campus placements. One more thing that I want to emphasize is that it is not just the placements that matter for a college but "what and how you learn" which is important while doing an MBA (this is just my personal opinion and people might have other things to say and as you know it is just with what perception you look into those arguments).
Regards,
KC

I cannot agree with you more than what u have said..a lot of people seem to choose schools based on placements - well my point is what if u don't selected by the company u desire(which is highly possible), does that mean the school failed you? no, the education you get should be the main factor.
By the way, I have admits in US as well as in Rotman - most likely going to Rotman bcos my wife will have great chances to work (since Rotman is located in the city) downtown...my employer is willing to continue by GC process while I am gone, so I had no problems making my choice to move to Toronto - want to enjoy city life with public transportation!
