Hi,
I have some question regarding the queens MBA, their website list that they offer MBA in science and technology, how is it different from the MBA offered by other colleges or university. Secondly I heard that the salary offers is not all that great once you graduate. Thirdly how is your experience with the faculty and in general your unique experiences (good or/and bad) if any. Lastly a general question about the loans and how one can manage finances.

I can speak regd salaries - its based on cost of living and other factors - the salaries u get in Canada are kind of equivalent to the salaries in US if you weigh the cost of living factors in it..for the same reasons, we can say salaries in India (in USD) are the lowest but we all know its enough for living in India...

PPL I made a request a brochure for QBS' MBA Prog & what I get is MBA in Sci & tech, Is this the only full time MBA they offer!!?? If yes then I am not even eligible to apply for this MBA

I want to clear one misconception of MBAst program in Queens it is not MBA in Science & Tech. but it is an MBA for poeple from Science & Tech. background and it is not different from any of the 1 year MBA's (coursewise). And for the experience :
a. I was really amazed by the way we all are being treated. Just think of a scenario where in all the lecture presentations are on your desk before the lecture starts.
b. All the text books and course binders are on your desk in team room before the start.
c. All the profs are excellent and just go through the bio of all profs that is available on Queens site you will know why I am going ga-ga about it.
d. The Admin staff is tooooooooooo cooooooooooooooool .. I cannot compare it with any of the admin staffs that I have interacted.

I am not just saying becoz I am from Queens but just to let you know that as of know all of my experiences were positive.

And as per the salaries u cannot compare CAD to USD as puhrince has rightly said. And for the placements just read the post I have posted 3-4 days back.

Azeem can you please let me know why you are not eligible for the course .. can u give me the details .. I can talk to the Adcom about ur case (if you are interested).

Wanted to ask you some more questions. Especially about financing ones MBA, about getting loans once you are admitted. I know its bit early for me to think about these, but I would like to hear from you on this. Also I would like to know specialises at which Queens is known for. And thanks for taking time out to answer my questions.

Looking at your excitement we can sure make out you are having a ball out there .

Queens is sure one of the most talked about varsities of Canada, and now you testify it for us too

Few Qs from my side (Pardon me if I sound Karan Thapar ):
1. How do you rate Queens in comparison to other known schools like Schulich, Rotman, University of Western Ontario: Ivey, McGill University, Sauder, Alberta? In the perview of Canada alone! Here I mean both Academic and professional help the school provides.
2. What are the type of industries located around Queens, as the level of placements abroad depends lot upon that.
3. Lots of talks about Canada going, for it to be falling short of High Level jobs. If not dead, it is sure shrinking. Do you agree to this?
4. You chose to move from US to Canada. How profitable do you feel this decision will be in future? I mean how do you see yourself in future.
5. Now a personal Qs. I will have around 4 yrs of experience during the time of Joining. Do you think it will be little less? [or should I see Rotman and all 2 year course?]
6. My Calculation says ... cost of studies is around 30 - 35 lacs ... How early do you think we can break even this loan, considering we get the average salary there.
7. How easy are the loans to get? Do we need a Cosigner? I coudnt get much from this page sorry!

Well, as I said I got the brochure from QBS and in that the elegibility criteria states that you should be a gradute in eng/Sci , if not, then you sould have work exp of atleast to yrs is Sci/eng related industry .... !!!!!

If you go through my profile it clearly shows that I am from Non Sci/Eng background... or to put it diffrently I have my education & Experince In Corporate LAws, Finace & Accounting .
