About the fellow students, there were two people from Germany, two from France and two from India who attended the interview today. This itself shows the reputation of the school as well as diversity. This year's batch has 120 students which comprises of students from 33 different nationalities without any pre-dominance of a single nationality.
As far as campus is concerned, it is located around 15 miles away from the main city. But there are lots of activities going on campus which keep the students busy. They enjoy a good social life. There are parties being arranged and also lots of sports activities.
The faculty too is gr8. The person who took my interview was associated with Cambridge(Judge Business School) till last yr.
On the whole, I am very much impressed with the school.
Too tired and exhausted to post my interview experience. It was a long one. Went on for over an hour. Will re-collect all that was discussed in the interview and will post it shortly.

Hey congratulations on the succesful interview and the admission.
I just wanted to add to what you said about the faculty. The Cranfield MBA has an awesome faculty, I have had a look thorugh their profiles and they are absolutely world class. For subjects like economics the Cranfield MBA faculty is rated as 3rd best by FT, their strategic management/marketing faculty has some of the best names in Europe, the same is true for many other subjects. I have also had a chance to talk to some of the current MBA students and they all speak very highly about the faculty and yes it is true, they do have many faculty members from Judge and other top business schools.
By the way, out of interest, whom did you have your interview with?.

No harm in trying. Nothing is a safe bet in any case. But cranfield is reputed and good in many aspects. There is no application fees in any case, so go for it. Best of luck to you.

You sure stand a good chance, I too had a GMAT score of 660. They would look at your over all profile. It is also important to apply at the right time before they fill in the right profile mixture they think appropriate. So in short, hurry up. But with lower GMAT the chances of getting schol reduces drastically specially if one is from IT back ground. As for as campus interview is concerned, that concept is non-existant in UK. So research well to know what to expect before u really want to plunge in. Best of Luck.

1. I have 10 year of IT experience and working for Infosys currently. Since score is low, do you think I have a realistic chance - Will my experience compensate some of the score. How much weightage is generally given on expereince/score?
2. I am thinking of applying in Cambridge, Oxford, Lancaster, Warwick, Cranfield & Cass. Any other school in Europe/UK will you recommend where you think i have a good chance. I understand schools like Insead have a good weightage on score so thats the reason i am not applying there.
3. How are the job prospects these days? Is there campus interviews for these colleges?
Appreciate if somebody can reply.
Thanks.

Hi Mastermind,
I am comparing to top schools in UK and in EU.
LBS, Said, Cambridge, Manchester,Insead are definitely more expensive.
Yes, my earlier IT quote was for Lancaster. In case of Cranfield, I am not very sure how exactly to evaluate career switches for IT from their report, but there is no denying of the fact that, as for as the placements are concerned, cranfield grads stand very good chance (typically) compared to other schools as their placement team and alumni really helps folks to prepare well.
So have u decided to apply to Cranfield ? I would say have cranfield as one of the college in your bucket if u r targetting UK.

You have mentioned in your post that IT professionals wanting to continue in IT returned to India. This you mentioned in context of Lancaster.
I have noticed for the class of 2006, 2007 for Cranfield , there were no career switchers that I noticed. Most of them continued in the same industry with roles in business analysis / management. I have not noticed strikingly different roles. Any comments.
No doubt with whatever information available on the internet about Cranfield, with regards to its alumini, placement statistics, blogs and career services it is quite reassuring.
Btw my profile Indian IT male 12yrs (development, business analyst, consulting, Management ( technical & people) .
Hope to hear soon!!
Cheers
Nand

Hi Guys,
Here is my interview experience. I was interviewed by Paul Guest. He intially asked me if I had prepared anything on the topic given to me, which was "Who is ur fav Business leader and why?". I had written a speech on Mr Narayanamurthy. Although he hadn't heard of him, I spoke what I had prepared.
After the speech , we discussed about the Indian IT industry and how it grew. He asked me about the offshore development and outsourcing, and cost benefits of different outsourcing models that I had mentioned in the speech.
He asked me about the major industries before the IT revolution in India and the cause of IT services sector growing at such a rapid pace in last 2 decades.
We discussed the Financial Crisis, its causes and ways to overcome the current economic situation.
After this, there was some discussion on India and China economy, mainly on the steel consumption.
Then we discussed a bit about Mittal industries and how Laxmi Mittal is seen as an business tycoon in India.
He asked me why I want to do an MBA and why now.
He was impressed with my acads and my GMAT but said that the only problem he saw in my profile was my low work ex.
He was stressing on my low work ex(3.5 yrs) and I really had to convince him to the core that I would be able to gel up well in the class and would make a positive contribution.
On the whole, the interview was very relaxed and was more of a dicussion than an interview.
GMAT : 720
Work Ex : 3.5 yrs in IT with 1.5 yrs international exp
Admits
Cranfield Class of 2010
LUMS Class of 2010

Hi! i am kind of new here. I just submitted my application. I am not indian, i am Romanian girl with work experience in Europe and Middle East. My Gmat score is ar worse than any of the scores here, i am just hoping for success because i come form a journalism background and have a bit of interesting work experience. I want to ask: after submitting the application, how long it takes to receive an answer from the University? I also apply to Lancaster, CBS, Warwick ( not submitted yet), Edinburgh and Leeds ( not submitted either) .
Thx a lot .
