You may think I am not answering your question, but I am. Be sure that an MBA is exactly that: the right tool to become a genuine manager and improve your leadership.
most schools have a specific spirit or an expertise area (finance for lsb, international business for insead, personal development and leadership for cranfield, innovation for tanaka...), but all are designed to provide a excellent learning in general management, aren't they?
Thanks for the response! I think I framed the question in a wrong way. Could you pls suggest some B-Schools (1 Year outside India) for Personal development and leadership?

Thanks in advance

Dear All,

Any update on the Loan application? Has anyone heard from the HSBC Bank about the Loan? Also we have to deposit 2000Pounds before 1st of June I guess. What if we do not get an appropriate Loan amount from the Bank? Do we need to make an arrangement for some alternatives?

Regards
Manoj

Arshad, to your point about the hiccups in economy, i don't think it should impact to those, who are not targetting Banking sector post MBA.
and more so, i dont feel it is as bad a situation as it was in 2001.
But, more views appreciated on this topic.

Hey Manoj did you hear anything on loan?

Can some one please advise if they have received a confirmation of loan amount from HSBC? Do they always approve 20k loan request?

Cheers!

Hi,

I haven't heard anyhting from HSBC on my loan approval. Only that they have received the loan application and that they are reviewing it. Thats why i asked this question on this forum. As far as I know they give the tution fee and some amount for the living expences. If the request is only for 20k then I think they should give it. But in my opinion this would not be a thumb rule for the bank.

Manoj

Hi man4kor,
I have got a better rate from a french bank, at 2.45%, about the same conditions than HSBC: £20K, Nothing until 12 months after the end of the programme, no fee for early refund, 5 years loan (thus 7 years altogether).
If you want to know more, please PM me.
Hope it helps

Can you post the loan details over here. I have received an offer for one of their Masters program and the information would definitely help many like me.

Cheers

Hi,
The bank is BNP Paribas, which is a French bank.
The loan, made in euros, is a "Grandes Ecoles" student loan.
I won't forget the change rate (from euro to pound), I know that I have to add it...
Nevertheless euro currency is nowadays exceptionally high, which is very good for European people living in England.
You have to be aware that it has been my own bank for 15 years so when I asked them about a loan, I argued the fact that if I were to get a loan from another bank, I would have to leave them and transfer all my savings... It helped!
Anyway, I don't know if it is only for French nationals. Please consult this page http://www.bnpparibas.net/banque/por...20030116163212
to know more about it.
Hope the best for you
cheers
erjh

Hi All!

HSBC loan process was very straightforward. I received a loan of 18k GBP within 3 - 4 weeks of my application submission.

Just adhere to the instructions provided by HSBC and you should not face any problem.

All the best!

i know i am digressing a bit from the topic.. but do you guys know what options one have for the work visa after finishing MBA in UK, to work in the UK?

I have been reading that the HSMP visa program is going away, and a point system is coming to replace that? how will a MBA help in the visa process then?

thanks
RJG.
