Congratulations my friend!!!! Well done! I agree with pagalguy. Stanford is probably the toughest school to get into for an MBA program in the US. I am sure you will have a ball of a time. You have an amazing profile. Going through it, I realise that you pretty much fit into what Stanford likes in applicants. Excellent work!!! Again, congratulations! YAHOO. Really happy.
Got some little scholarship .
Beauty of Stanford is that if I decide to move out of US for first job most of the loans will be forgiven. So if there is some problems with H1 no problems, very little loans.

cheers | Hi terminator,
you have excellent work experience, for most Indians GMAT is not that difficult, but prepare well, don't rush GMAT to beat college deadlines. Which colleges you are looking at? With 5 yrs exp and 6 years by next fall you can look at European/British b-schools mostly 1 year. They look more favorably to applicants with more work experience. I have not done too much research but offhand I can remember Manchester, Warwick, Henley, and of course can try out INSEAD, and LBS. But are you ready to stay in Europe, learn foreign language etc.? It depends on u dude.

Hi All,
I am coming to India during end February, beginning of March for fixing my visa issues. I am coming back after more than 2 years. This is also an opportunity to catch up with my friends in Bangalore. (have to go to Kolkata for the visa issuance).
I think lots of Indian applicants struggle to get right info about b-schools. Not everybody has any idea about which b-schools fit with their profile. So any Indians who are applying feel free to ask about anything in the procedure.
When I did this research 2 yrs back without any help it was really hard to get proper reliable info. So just want to make things easier for others.
I got into a few other top schools
1) Wharton 2) Cornell, with free ride 3) Columbia 4) Chicago 5) Emory with free ride (my safety school)
But decided on Stanford as this was the most exclusive brand (Plus it is in California, similar weather to B'lore)
So fell free to shoot questions, especially upto beginning of March as I am relatively free till then.
I can even personally meet applicants from bangalore when I am there. will Keep u all updated on my schedule.
Senapati

PS: I got rejected at HBS | HiCongatulations...you must be feeling very proud...and content.!!I am an Engineer (from one of the best colleges of Pune) with 1.8 months of work ex in a US based MNC..and I plan to take GMAT..what is the ideal time to take GMAT (considering the beginning of sessions...I am referring to US Schools)apart from the requisite work ex, a good GMAT score what else is paramount for good chances of being considered..I have been under the impression that a good GMAT score alone is not sufficient...(good recommendations, essays..etc)..could you throw some light?...thanks and really appreciate the effort | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
