My GD and PI are on the 15th of Feb in Mumbai and the interviewer is a philipino prof....

BE Comp Sc. Thapar Institute .. < 3 yrs workex in an IT comp n Delhi .. average acads, decent extra curr ... I was onsite on a project a coupla montns back to manila .. was in manila for 4.5 months so got some info on the school from students in manila .. a senior from my company did his MM from AIM .. he has suggested reading the editorial in papaer to prepare for the intervire and not to worry too much .. will post more details as and when I hav any ..

Hi All,

Me too have got a call for interview on 15'th at bangalore but in my letter the interviewer name is not mentioned.
Any body has any idea whats gna happen in GD as its for 45 mins which is lil long for GD
and for PI they have alloted only 25 mins..so what type of question they gona ask in that ?

Any help for people who have past experience will help..

Interesting... can you share with us what is the opinion of the indian students studying there and their experience...!!! And with the GD yeah, they have discussions on general current topics, however last year they had a very person centric GD... details of which you will find in another thread started by icecube.... for the link just scroll up... and interview is mainly on what you have written in your essays..!!!

Since you were in Manila and have done research about AIM, can you tell me in particular about AIM placements? Does AIM have campus placements or do graduates have to find one on their own?

Kindly elaborate if possible.

Hi Guys

While in Manila I was in touch with a student called Rahul Badki .. Following is the info I could gather from the students I met at AIM

1. All said that donot come to AIM if ur looking for good campus placements imediately after graduation, instead come if you were looking for a good education. They went as far as saying that come with a mindset that you won't have any campus placement.
2. They all praised the quality of education. said that the school made them work real hard. Since most profs are real world business practisioners the learning recieved is very valuable.
3. The school is strongest in the Finance Deptt. Most students try to graduate with a finance specialization but find it difficult to do so.
4. Companies such as mind tree consulting, J&J visit the campus but few get campus placements,most manage to get good jobs 3-6 months after graduation.
5. Many goto singapore to get jobs where they tend to get good jobs in a span of 3-4 months.
5. The alumni in India is very strong, good school if u hav entrpreneurship in mind and if u want to work in India post MBA.
6. The majority of students in the batch were indians.
7. When I asked the students to compare the school with others in the region such as NUS and ISB they said NUS has location advantage but does not match up to the quality of education recieved at AIM in terms of the grinding and slogging the students have to go through and the overall educational experience. ISB they said has the advantage of good campus placements but most students I met were of the opinion that you cannot learn in 1 year at ISB what you do in 2 years at AIM.
