Re: Hult International business school MA boston student taking questions - 14-05-2008, 09:19 AM

I have yet to come across anyone who has not been offered a schol or a erika loan at HULT. The entry level barriers are so weak that the quality of class ( the prime reason that is making us spend colosal sums of money) is questionable.

There is no placement cell in place - and no one seems to have heard of HULT ever except a few of us who have been admitted.

This one move is likely to make or break us and I am surprised that we gullible indians are getting trapped.

the school generates no news ever. Try placing a google alert for yourself.

the Indian alumni is unhappy.

wonder?????

Re: MBA in Dubai - 03-06-2008, 11:03 PM

guys dont get lured about MBA in Dubai, its just business. A mere US degree after spending huge money without the right placement and the right career after MBA is useless. Schools set up in Knowledge Village (KV) get huge savings, incentives and benefits from the authorities and are invited to set up school there. the school is in KV.

few points that one must consider before applying or enrolling to Dubai MBA

1) fees is high given the fact that this is Dubai based course.

2) scholarship is less or nil.

3) accomodation was near to campus - 5 minutes, now it has been moved 45 minutes from campus. Who knows what will happen hereafter maybe 1.5 hours from campus or even more. cost saving technique by school.

4) the school is too much after fees.

5) erika loan is not that easy to get.

6) the marketing office is very aggressive as this is their 1st year in Dubai and they want to have as many students as possible.

7) about 50% of the course fees is required to be paid before going to dubai, rest within few months. Effectively one pays 100% just a few days after classes commence. So no backing out irrespective of the course quality once the classes commence.

this is the first year of the school in Dubai so the thoughts about good placements may backfire. Already there is huge let off in IT going on globally and this will affect other fields also.

9) with the same fees one can get better prospects in Europe and USA.

10. the MBA is not in the FT rankings - strange for a self-proclaimed top level on year MBA.

11. the MBA is not AACSB and EQUIS accredited.

strange?????????????

i officially joined joined last week. hesitated for second but feels good now. i found the whole process enjoyable. loan was quite easy to get...was able to secure a good amount of loan and some scholrship too. admisions were very helpful through the process. gave good tips and are keeping in touch. i'm already working with career services. economist rankings are impressive. Hult is accr by A of MBAs and NEASC.US and worldwide. 2 of my colluegues/friends were rejected b/c they were 3 monhs short of 3 years exp.don't want to study with kids told that accom is very nice, seen pics and swim pool, mall close by.family in dubai checked it out... surprised to see negative commnts here...no b-skool is perfect. i chose hult ubai b/c of the education and tools it will provide. it's practical, rigorus and faculty are excelent...some boston curr studetns i contacted on orkut say quality of edu is brilliant. school is located in Academic city not Knowledge village: "If we knew what it was we were doing, it would not be called research, would it?". -- Albert Einstein :wink1:

Since this pupil has joined everything seems flowery to him. This is far from actual picture and reality.Let him join there and see for himself. The actual reality is far from what is presented by such schools on their website.they lure students by loans and scholarships as they have targets to achieve.Leave AMBA there are much better known accreditations like AACSB and EQUIS.Not heard of NEASC.US and worldwide.Even Wharton,Kellogs does not have this-does it mean it is a bad school???think for yourself.Leave 3 monhs short of 3 years exp.it is known that they have taken many candidates with Gmat of even 400 or less as they have targets to achieve in their first operational year.people don't get misguided and play with your carer.
