Hi...the orkut community is not big...has only 30 and odd members..

The sad fact is that it is very inactive....i would like many more people interacting and discussing about the school and its prospects....

Actually I am a lot worried about the investment in the school (around 25 lacs) and about the job opportunities after it...

let me know if u have any insights into these...

Shaaz.

Hi Guys,

I have the admission open for Sep 2008 Dubai, But I have decided to drop of the plan for HULT for few reasons as below:

1. Cost of investment is high - 25 lacs, which is same as any other good schools like Warwick, Lancester, SDA Bocconi etc
2. You loose 1 year of salary
3. If you had a look at placement record of SP Jain Dubai, the offers are not great, HULT would also offer similar to that and cant be way beyond.
4. HULT is not recognized university, I spoke to couple of Alumni and below is their view for my questions on HULT
  • 1. How recognized is HULT MBA when compared to any other top schools?
It is not very recognize in in the world , even in US

    2. Did you had any problems while presenting your profile with an MBA from HULT?
Yes I have had alot troubles triying to get a job

    3. Does industries consider HULT MBA as a proper MBA or do we need to introduce what is HULT to the recruiters?

Because Hult is not a top school, you have to Hult to the recuiters, in a few words, it is not a good options, unless, you have a very strong background (very well know companies)
Overall the picture is not looking rosy, instead its looking scary as the cost of investment is too huge, Instead i would try for any other european school with better recognition.

These are my perosnal views and not to bias your views. So think from mutliple directoins and take the decisoin. HULT could be a good option if some one sponsors, but I guess organizations sponsor only those colleges which are well reccognized.

Instead if i have to join HULT I would like to wait for the placement record of this year batch in Dubai and can join in 2009.

Regards,
Sunny

Hi,

Ranking 30 in World . Not sure what is the reference? Other than Economist Research no one else has recognized this university till date. Economist Research also recognized this only for 2 years, This ranking of 30 is also in specific areas like Teacher - Student Ratio etc...not in the placements/Quality of Education/Campus..etc.How about before that and After that? No trace.

Just search for the university in Google. Harld 3-4 pages of information is available. If you consider US alone in one year colleges. Thunderbird, Babson, Kellog would be in the top rankings.

These are the observations after continous search for 2-3 months.

I would also suggest contact the alumni and know their views about the college and the placements.

Regards,
Sunny

My 2 cents

WRT to placements, Hult being a first timer in the Gulf will put in extra effort just to ensure that the pilot batch does well.

Conversely..

Hult being a first timer, could be passed over by major recruiters.

IMHO, I'd go with the former partly because Im being optimistic about prospects in the Gulf for this kind of a course and also because of the committment level of the recruitment team in Dubai. Also if you read through the website they have a very deep process regarding placements. I chose this program over a Tier II 1 year program in India because the brand value of an American MBA in certain cases is better than an Indian MBA, pragmatically speaking, ecspecially if you're looking to work outside India.
