Hi ,

It would be good if you can add your GMAT score along with your profile and the reason for choosing this school. Everyone is looking for information on HULT and the reasons for selecting the school as the amount of information available on the net is not that vast. Your insight would be appreciated.

now wanna do something different
hult seems to provide the diversity needed.

Hi Manu,

I might pick up the offer after I get a few things clarified. Seniors can help.

1. The faculty at Hult is world class, but am not too sure if the same faculty at Boston [ or equivalent ] is coming down to Dubai.

2. I haven't heard anything on the scholarship front. I have excellent credentials and hence I definitely would love to have some relaxation on fees.

Its the very first year for Hult in Dubai, definitely some things will be in experimentation mode I dont mind that if I am sure that my classmates are competent. I appreciate the funda of having atleast 3 yrs of work-ex, but the main challenge will be to see how many out of the class come with Indian IT background. [ Though i have no resources with me which can help me getting the insight :( I would want to know about it. ]

Hi aspirant,

I am in touch with a fren who is at Hult Boston. He says its really a great course but we need to take care of job ourselves.

Placements in Dubai are good. Look at SPJ Dubai [ i think SPJ is the only nearest competitor to Hult ] placements. They are getting 100% placements year after year.

Here is how i compare Hult with Dubai.

1. Both are 1 yr courses. Hult is like Dubai - Boston - Shanghai and SPJ is Dubai Singapore.

2. Faculty at SPJ comes from leading Indian MBA institutes whereas Faculty at Hult comes in from leading MBA schools in the US [ Harvard, NYU... ]

3. Students at SPJ have little exp as compared to students at Hult [ presumed because Hult focuses a lot on exp and needs min 3 yr workex ] SPJ has students even with 0 or 1 yr work ex.

4. Hult should have more diversity. Hult is targetting audience from around the globe, whereas SPJ is essentially getting 90% participants from India itself.

5. Huge proportion of students at SPJ [ say atleast 50% ] come with an IT background, not sure about Hult Dubai as its the very first year.

6. Fees, definitely SPJ fees is like 50% of what we would spend at Hult

7. SPJ has a big brand name in India which helps students getting jobs in India atleast. Not too sure about things at Hult Dubai. What I have been hearing of is, that they are trying hard and have dedicated professionals working to establish relations with corporates, but not sure again how much success has been achieved so far..



Lot of questions to be answered... Any inputs are appreciated...

Hi dhyey4mba,

I checked with HULT Dubai guys...they are saying that the faculty would be the same for all the 3 campuses, the programs are designed such a way that ...faculty would first complete his course in US followed by Dubai and Shangai...so there is no change in the faculty.

As far as cirriculum and faculty is concerned they are very good. Only concern is the brand of HULT in big MNC's, as you must have seen some threads of comparing HULT with premier colleges...i know that GMAT score just couldnt be the benchmarking but ...thats the image HULT currently has...so even i am targeting for HULT Dubai...cos my criteria is 1 Yr MBA....we can target for other good schools like IMD Switzerland...but need to gain some more score...which needs some more time....so i guess...Time...money...course duration..would play a role in decision...

But Comparison of HULT with other colleges from HULT students would be quite helpfull....

I have been offered a seat at Hult Dubai '08.
Is it a normal practice for American B Schools to ask for a seat confirmation deposit?

Secondly, Sumit mentioned that starting early was the key to securing jobs in the US. I intend to finish my last 7 weeks at Boston. How would a person prepare and network in that case. What do you really mean when you say start early?In that case, does it really make any sense to switch campus for the last 7 weeks?

I would really appreciate any info on this.

Can some Alumni's or current students be kind enuff to give me their e-mail addresses?
