Thanks for the wishes guys

here's the post that you were mentioning:
Profile:
1) Nothing great.. infact the most cliched of all .. Engineer (Non IITian).. then IT industry.. Will have 4 yrs experience when I join. Good acads. Have had my share of extra currics. Close to 1 yr work experience in the US.
2) GMAT - 720. I was happy to be above the avg for all the top 15 schools which is where I applied this time. At times I felt that the score was ok since everyone around was within the same range. My advice: Don't be bogged down with scores.. Scores are just one part of the apps. However, it's prudent to be realistic in the choice of possible schools.
3) Applications were the hardest part... (GMAT is the easiest) if you can believe me. I was fortunate to have found a graduate from CBS to review my essays which I believe is very-2 important. You can read your essays a 100 times and be satisfied and oblivious to the obvious. However, a neutral eye can do wonders.
4) Most schools ask for resume. Make it crisp (1 page max) and highlight your USP's. Don't explain unnecessarily.
5) Essays- Most ppl told me to go in for a consultant for this but I decided to take the plunge on my own. Ofcourse I took my friend's help to review. However, it's you and only you who can write your essays the best.
6) Talked to a number of people from different schools I was targetting. Met a couple of ppl in NY as well. If you are not in US, no need to be disheartened. There are alumni of all top schools in India. The admissions office may provide you with a few names. Meet people and get a perspective. It surely helps if you show thru your essays that you've been researching well.
7) Interviews - I didn't do much preparation for all my interviews but since I had written my essays myself I didn't need to.. that's again my opinion. The interviewer generally likes to know you better - your aspirations, goals, the roads you take to achieve them et al. There's nothing right or wrong.. Confidence is the key.

Recommendations - You don't need the CXO of your firm to write it for you.. even your immediate superior would be good enough for the adcom if he can vouch for the quality of your work and for you as such.
I think I've covered all the parts of the app process.
