First of all thanks to everyone for the wishes.
Hi Chandler,
First of all, I don't understand why you call yourself verbally challenged ! You've got great scores for gmat and toefl. If I were you, I wouldn't hesitate in applying to the top 20 schools at all. You've shown that you have what it takes. Just present an excellent perspective of your personal side, your aspirations.. through the essays. Why put yourself in a position where you would always think that I could've made it to one of the better schools ?? I don't see any reason why you shouldn't give it a shot.
Next to your questions:
1) typical questions would be - why mba, why now, why from XYZ school, run us thru your resume, major accomplishments and atleast 1 failure (personal/professional).. then examples of situations where you took charge, hesitated.. I mean there are so many of these questions which is so subjective. I think if you introspect and write your essays well, you shouldn't face any issue in handling such questions.
2) Mostly you can touch upon any personal attribute that they haven't asked about. They need a person with a well-rounded personality.. someone sociable, not just number crunching machines. You can tell abt any personal experience that impacted you and made you a better person.. again such situations are difficult to encompass in a box..
3) why such school - well.. here your research abt the school will come out. you need to tell them why the school is a good fit for you and vice versa. You would need to be clear on what you want from the school and what you can provide.
Best of luck to everyone
Wishing you all a very happy new year !
