When To Write Gmat??? - 21-04-2005, 05:38 PM

Hi all

I would like to know if it is possible to write CAT and GMAT in the same year. I would like to know what is the appropriate month to take up GMAT. Cat will be there in November and other institutes in January. So how to squeeze in GMAT ( I am a working person too)

How much time does it take to prepare for GMAT (for a working person). MMoreover researching on the universities to apply takes some time too. So is it possible to aim for an indian MBA and foreign MBA simultaneously

hi,
altho its a difficult proposition to balance GMAT and CAT..prep and apping...but it can be done...if you are not experienced (<2yrs) then wont suggest to go for GMAT this year.Otherwise best is take GMAT first ..around july august..so that you get max time to prepare for CAT and apping stuff side by side.As far as GMAt prep goes...2-3 months should be more than enough if you are regular at it.

july is ideal - 25-04-2005, 05:05 PM

I think end july is ideal time to give GMAT......
(I am also a working professional and planning to give GMAT in july this year) .....coz you have enought time to prepare for CAT even if GMAT score doesn't turns up as expected

Also there is enough time to apply to universities...

i think 2-3 months will be sufficient ...looking at the preperations

Be in high spirits always

me thinks Gmat/Gre can be written in Sept or early Oct as it would mean that u would have prepared well for CAT and these exams are not too much more than CAT. Also the fact that u have a couple of months means that u can rectify ur mistakes while preparing for CAT. I am not writing GMAT but iam taking up GRE in OCT in the same school of thought.

considering that ISB looks for workex beyond 2 yrs, obviously not eligible for next batch...will it be fine if I appear GMAT after CAT,,say in FEB 2006 and apply to ISB for 2007 batch...I think GMAT scr ll be valid ...suggestions most welcome..TIA
