Hi Guys,

I am a CAT aspirant primarily..but am planning to give GMAT for a particular business school (MICA, Ahmedabad). I guess..i will give it by DEC end or JAN 1st week i.e. after i am done wit my CAT. Can somebody tell me how to book for GMAT and the costs involved? (Really clueless abt it cos none of my mates here are appearing for the GMAT ) And also whether i will be able to get a slot for DEC end or JAN 1st week if i book now?

hi! the gmat costs around Rs.12,00 (lesser now I guess cos the rupee has appreciated!)...you can register for it on www.mba.com go through the site and you will find out a lot about the GMAT - format, etc...
even i'm givin gmat in end of dec...and yes, if u book now, you can get a date for end dec/1st week of jan...go the the "schedule an appt for GMAT" section on the main page of mba.com ...you'll have to register/sign-in first...
good ur givin gmat after cat...atleast you'll be prepared for the math part of gmat thoroughly! remember an imp difference between the two though...on the gmat, you have arnd 1.8-2 mins per qs...and if u dont finish answering all qs, there's a heavy penalty wrt marks...so ur speed needs to be pretty solid for gmat...gmat also doesn't have a DI section like CAT...and it has an additional section called AWA which is basically 2 essays one has to write in 1 hr...

Pay for the Test
if you've already been here, or find it confusing, contact their customer service (given at the bottom of the page). but i still think paying by credit card online is the most convenient option, maybe u can pay a frnd cash and ask him to let u use his mastercard to make the payment on the net.

Hi gmatdelhi,

Yeah i have got the Manhattan SC book....ordered it from ebay.

If u are in the initial stages of ur prepration then take one topic at a time...like start with CR and do it for a 5 days,....im sure at the end of 5 days u would find urself comfortable with it...then do other topics in a round robin way.....

Once u have finished this then take all 3 ( CR, RC. SC) at a time ....

i followed this approach and found it useful

Hi All,

I had planned to give GMAt in october end started preparing for in in the second week of September.. But due to not as par shows in last few CAT's i am planning to postpond the paper. Gave following two GMAT tests which has disappointed me.

MGMAT1 free test - Q49,V34(680)
GMAT Prep -Q50, V35(700).

Am having some more free tests. But i feel i should give more time on CAT tests than on reading simply without proper ground reality. I am finding my self week perticularly week in SC's and Passages. As these two ditch me quite often. Want to get realy good in verbal part to get into 40's mark. Please suggest some tests. As i have got this thing that random preparation has no effect unless u give a test at regular interval of time and analise it deeply.

Today took a online Diagnostic test from Princeton....
scores were very pathetic...
Verbal: 30 Math: 39 Total: 570Can anyone pls tell me how bad this is?....Or is Princeton scores expected to be like that?....
