Though there are many threads on AWA, i dint find any discussing the paid services offered by american companies such as 800score.com...Any thoughts on this?

I think this topic merits discusstion because inspite of having seen some people claiming AWA scores don't matter much to schools, i don't believe so. I am not enrolled in any coaching and preparing by myself.

My written english is not very fancy but generally free from grammatical errors. Planning to write GMAT by the end of July. is it advisable to buy such services? any alternate towards getting experts' opinion over our essays..

I dont remember the dean who said the school doesnt really look at the AWA score as long as it is above 4.0
Schools do have access to your essays so if you have a low AWA but essays that Shakespeare would give an arm and a leg for, the school will go back and read the AWA.

I'd certainly not pay USD 20 to get an AWA essay evaluated.
Easier way would be to start a blog and post ur essays there. (alternatively, join an active prep yahoo/google group and circulate ur essays there. )Ppl do drop by and give inputs for free.. Of course, they won't match the quality of a paid service, but i have found them to be very useful.
